Daily Itinerary

Day 1: USA-Palermo
Enjoy a relaxing overnight flight to Palermo.

Day 2: Palermo-Arrival
You will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome cocktail, dinner, and overnight stay. (D)

Day 3: Palermo-Cefalu-Castelbuono-Catania
Depart to Cefalú, a charming coastal town, renowned for its breathtaking Norman Cathedral with dazzling mosaics and the medieval wash-house built in the rock. Proceed to Castelbuono, a typical medieval village on the slopes of the Madonie the main street, where you can admire the Church of St. Anne, Patron Saint of the city, with the bell tower next to the Church of “Matrice Vecchia”. After the visit, tasting of typical Sicilian products at a renowned pastry, panettone and the famous artisan liquors (Rosolio) of various flavors. Lunch in Castelbuono. Proceed to Catania. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Catania-Mount Etna-Taormina-Catania
If weather permits, ascend to 5,400 feet, on Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Enjoy a lunch in a farmhouse on the slopes of Etna and wine tasting of local production. Continue to Taormina called "the pearl of the Ionic Sea", founded in 400 BC and beautifully located overlooking the sea and the peak of Mount Etna. Enjoy time at leisure to shop for handmade lace, coral jewels, ceramics, home-made sweets and preserves down “Corso Umberto” or simply walk through the tiny streets. Possibility to visit the fascinating Roman - Greek theatre. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Catania-Siracusa-Ragusa
Depart to Siracusa to visit the archaeological area including the famous Latomie of the Paradise, the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheater and the Dyonisios “Ear”. Visit the island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city centre built by the Aragonians. In the afternoon, depart to Ragusa, a city that is divided into two parts: the upper part built after the earthquake in 1693 and the lower part that is called Ragusa Ibla. Enjoy a tasting of typical Sicilian products in a nice bar in the main square by the Dome, “Basilica di San Giorgio”. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Ragusa-Piazza Armerina-Agrigento
Depart to Piazza Armerina and visit the worldwide known Villa Romana del Casale - the richest, largest and most complex collection of late Roman mosaics in the world. Continue to Agrigento. In the afternoon, visit of the Valley of the Temples including the Temple of Juno, Concord, Heracles, Zeus, Castor & Pollux. Enjoy an unforgettable panoramic tour of the Valley of the Temples illuminated. Overnight in Agrigento. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Agrigento-Selinunte-Segesta-Palermo
Depart to the Archaeological park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean area with the impressive Temples and Acropolis. Proceed to Castelvetrano and stop at a local farmhouse for wine and oil tasting of local production. Proceed to Segesta to visit the Doric Temple, which keeps in its stones the weight of a long history, surrounded by a unique landscape. Proceed to Palermo. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Palermo-Monreale-Palermo
Morning visit of the Capital of Sicily including the Cathedral, the "Palatina" Chapel, and panoramic tour of the town. Continue to Monreale to admire the Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics and the cloister of the Benedictines monastery with Moorish architecture. Afternoon is at leisure or consider an optional excursion to Monte Pellegrino. (B,L,D)

Day 9: Palermo-USA
You will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. (B)


Policy Information and Terms & Conditions:

Reservations: All travel arrangements and reservations should be made by December 20, 2013. Later bookings must be approved in advance. All departures are guaranteed after written confirmation from Key Tours. Prices are based on double occupancy; if traveling with a companion please provide their voucher number in addition to yours to secure your double occupancy rate.

Deposit and Final Payment
: Your purchase of a LivingSocial Escapes voucher for A Taste of Sicily package will act as your final payment for services booked. Any additional services booked 
including travel insurance, additions to the itinerary, etc. must be paid for using a separate payment form. The single supplement charge is $400. Participants waive any charge-back rights and, in the event of dispute, requests for a refund must be made using the procedures described herein.

Cancellations
: Notice of cancellation must be made in writing directly to Key Tours International. A $150 fee per person will be charged for all cancellations. The cost of all airline tickets and taxes are non-refundable after a booking is confirmed. Additionally, the following scale of charges will apply as a percentage of total service price when notice occurs within 60 days of service start: 60-31 days prior - 20%; 30-14 days prior - 40%; 13-3 days prior - 70%; Later Cancellations and No Shows - 100%
