In the southernmost corner of Germany Berchtesgaden is nestled within the mountains – a village as pretty as a postcard! The tour takes you towards the historical Celtic town of Hallein, over the Dürrnberg mountain road, past the old salt mines into neighboring Bavaria in Germany. The first stop is in Königssee, a beautiful small village on the lake with the same name. Continue to Berchtesgaden. You will have enough time to stroll through the town. Return to Salzburg in the late afternoon.

Cross over the German border into Bavaria. The first stop is in Obersalzberg. From there change to a special bus for the amazing journey up the 4-mile long road to the Eagles Nest. A 406-ft long tunnel leads you into the mountain. Once inside the mountain a lift takes you in less than a minute directly up into the building which was used as a conference centre. There will be a short stop in the picturesque town of Berchtesgaden before returning to Salzburg.

On the way to Mozart s town of birth pass the Salzkammergut and its mountains and numerous lakes: Reach Salzburg, have time for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a stroll through the old city, visiting the most important sights of the old Bishop s Seat.

Relax on board and watch the landscape, and the sights such as the Danube Tower, the Millennium Tower, the Ring Tower, the District Heating Plant Spittelau, the Urania Observatory, and many others, passing by. Experience navigating through one or two of the locks as the boat is raised or lowered where the water levels of the Danube differ because of the dams.

Following the Wiener Lied, the song from Vienna, the cruise is dedicated to music and to culinary delights. Experience authentic Viennese music with our Heurigen singing duo with lead singer Erich Zib from Radio Wienerlied. Typical Viennese specialities from the buffet highlight this musical evening.

See the scenic beauty surroundings of the city of Salzburg, passing the villages of Hof, Fuschl, St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang. In St. Wolfgang visit the church and enjoy the atmosphere. Take a romantic boat trip across the lake (May – Oct).

Known as the Little Danube, the cruise on the Danube Canal takes 1.5 hours when the boat heads upstream to the Nussdorf Lock before which it turns to go to the mouth of the river Wien, where again it turns to go back to the Schwedenplatz pier, with the many sights of the city centre such as the Ring Tower, the Rossau Barracks, the Kaiserbad Lock, or the Urania Observatory, visible along the way.
