About Key Tours

Key Tours is a wholesale tour operator for the Mediterranean region. Servicing travelers from around the world, using company-leased buses and salaried guides, Key Tours is able to operate an excellent variety of itineraries at cost-effective prices. In our destination region, Key Tours can supply the following services:

Tour Arrangements
Travel arrangements are made through our US office and confirmed at local overseas offices. When travel arrangements are finalized, vouchers, tickets and other information on each service are forwarded to clients. The vouchers provide service details, supplier/ hotel address and telephone numbers and contact information for the overseas offices.

Hotels
Hotels in key cities throughout our specialty region are often comparable to those in major American cities. However, when traveling outside major cities, differences among hotels of the same rating can be striking. Thus, travelers must be selective. Primarily, Key Tours specializes in superior and first class hotel programs, allowing us to offer competitive prices. At the same time, we are rapidly increasing our activity with deluxe and historical (restored) hotels, where we can offer competitive rates as well.

Hotel Categories
Deluxe (DLX): Hotels in this category are top-of-the-line, offering the full range of facilities and services with superior dining and accommodations. Many will be plush in various and/or special ways.

Superior First (SF): Normally these hotels will have a local five-star rating, offering a high standard of accommodation and a variety of services, but somewhat short of deluxe. Nearly all will have good restaurants and bars of high standard for your enjoyment.

First Class (FC): Normally these will have a local rating of a four-star hotel, offering a moderate standard of accommodation with a good range of services and amenities. Furnishings and décor are of a good standard and provide pleasant surroundings. Most will have restaurants and bars as well.

Superior Tourist (ST): These are budget accommodation hotels normally rated at three stars in the local rating system. They are well maintained, but often have limited facilities and amenities. All have private baths. These are often a good choice for central location and access to sites.

Historic/Boutique (HIS/SPC): These are usually restored buildings, with historic or quaint features, which were previously inns, caravan inns, wineries, special homes, and even palaces. Often they create an air of yesteryear that enhances the flavor of your touring pleasure. The size and shape of rooms can vary widely, but they will always have a private bath. We recommend these to the traveler who wants to experience a special atmosphere.

Cruises
Key Tours works with well-known cruise lines operating in the Mediterranean region. Most commonly, we use Louis Cruises or MSC cruises  with our tour packages. We also offer local yacht cruising and charter programs.

Airlines
As a tour operator, Key Tours makes special price agreements and can provide flexible schedule arrangements with Air France, Egyptair, Air Morocco, Alitalia, Turkish Airlines, Iberia, and Olympic Airways.

Local Guides
Key Tours truly understands the importance of guide services for the success of any tour. Therefore, we provide the very best. In most cases, our guides have at least five years of experience and are licensed by local governments. They are knowledgeable and experienced with American and Canadian clients; and regardless of the destination, they are measured by the same high standards.

Tour Buses
Key Tours operates its own buses. Most of them are nearly new, with brand names such as Mercedes or Mitsubishi, imported from Germany or Japan. Normally, for groups of 14 or more and on the escorted tour itineraries, the buses are deluxe, equipped with air conditioning and often include onboard emergency toilets. With smaller groups, air-conditioned mini-buses are used.

Quality Control
Key Tours is most interested in comments from our clients to assess the quality of our services. Thus, we always request that our guests privately complete questionnaire forms to evaluate our tours. In 2005, 97.2% of our clients were satisfied with the services supplied, and 96.3% of the clients gave our services an excellent or better rating.
