Poros is actually two islands: Sphaira in the south and the larger Kalaureia. The island pair lies just off the coast of mainland Greece and are a popular destination for short vacations. Poros is easily accessible by ferry or hydrofoil from the port of Athens. Lush with vegetation and mountainous in form, the vast majority of the inhabitants live in the town of Poros, which is located on the southernmost island.
