Travel Finland by train with visits to Helsinki, Kemi, and Rovaniemi. Enjoy leisure time in capital city, Helsinki, and tour highlights such as Temppeliaukio Church (The Rock Church), Esplanade Park, The Sibelius Monument, Finlandia Hall and more. Continue on to Kemi and board the Sampo Ice Breaker for a four hour excursion cruising through the arctic region. Enjoy traditional cuisine such as reindeer or salmon on board. You will be given the opportunity to engage in ice swimming - we highly recommend it! Venture on to Rovaniemi via a scenic train ride and explore this Finnish Lapland capital. Choose to be adventurous and join a reindeer safari, husky safari, snowmobile safari or visit the Santa Claus Village.

Helsinki – Arrival

First Class: Scandic Park Helsinki or similar accommodations

Upon arrival in Helsinki, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. You may want to visit the Temppeliaukio Church (The Rock Church), Helsinki Cathedral, Esplanade Park, The Sibelius Monument, the Havis Amanda Fountain, the Uspensky Orthodox Cathedral, Finlandia Hall, the Presidential Palace (Presidentinlinna), the Kiasma Art Museum, or the Suomenlinna Maritime Sea Fortress (outside the city center).

Day

Helsinki – Kemi (Overnight Train)

After breakfast, spend an entire free day in this delightful capital with enough time to continue ticking away at the suggested sights to visit. In the evening, board your overnight train to Kemi. (B)

Kemi – Sampo Ice Breaker

First Class: Hotel Merihovi or similar accommodations

Arrive in Kemi early in the morning and proceed to your hotel. Today, you will create lasting memories as you enjoy a 4-hour excursion on board the Sampo Ice Breaker. You will be picked up from your hotel in the early afternoon and transferred to the ice breaker. Enjoy a traditional lunch (either reindeer or salmon) on board. During the ice breaker excursion you will have an opportunity for ice swimming – we highly recommended it. Arrive back in Kemi around 6 pm. If you are still feeling adventurous, you may want to have an optional a dinner in the snow castle, located close to your hotel. (L)

Kemi – Rovaniemi

First Class: Hotel Rantasipi Pohjanhovi or similar accommodations

After breakfast, enjoy some free time to explore Kemi. In the afternoon, board the train for your short journey to Rovaniemi. Enjoy the scenery that passes by. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. (B)

First Class: Hotel Rantasipi Pohjanhovi or similar accommodations

After breakfast, enjoy a full day to explore the capital of Finnish Lapland. Activities such as reindeer safaris, husky safaris, and snow mobile safaris are available. During this day, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Santa Claus Village. There is a lot to see and do in Rovaniemi, from simply enjoying your surroundings to partaking in fun-filled adventures. Rovaniemi – Return

After breakfast, make your own way to the Rovaniemi airport to catch a flight to your next destination. (B)
