Travel Swedish Lapland by train and discover the Northern Lights. Begin your adventure in Abisko , considered one of the last true wilderness areas. Stay at the Abisko Mountain Lodge with breathtaking views of the Lapporten Mountain Gate, one of Sweden's most photographed landscapes. Choose to participate in traditional winter activities such as ice climbing or snowshoeing. Travel through the Abisko National Park and arrive at the Aurora Sky Station, a mountaintop observation center for the Northern Lights, and enjoy a traditional Nordic 4-course dinner. Next, venture to Kiruna and check in to the world renowned Ice Hotel. Experience sleeping in thermal sleeping bags on a special bed built of snow and ice in a room set to 23 degrees Fahrenheit. To enhance your travel experience, we suggest spending at least one night before and after your tour in the capital city of Stockholm.

Kiruna – Arrival – Abisko

First Class: Abisko Mountain Lodge or similar accommodations

Upon arrival in Kiruna, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the train station for your journey to Abisko. Abisko is considered to be one of the last true wilderness areas and perhaps better known for its sightings of the magical Northern lights. Get off the train at Abisko and make your way to the mountain lodge inhaling the unspoiled winter scenery on your stroll. (D)

Abisko at Leisure

First Class: Abisko Mountain Lodge or similar accommodations

After breakfast, enjoy two days at leisure to explore the area. Abisko offers several optional winter activities to choose from. A sample of the selection includes: ice climbing, snowshoeing, and much more. We recommend joining a husky excursion. (B,D)

Abisko – Ice Hotel

First Class: The Ice Hotel or similar accommodations

After breakfast, board a train from Abisko to Kiruna. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the world renowned Ice Hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure in this unique and breathtaking area. Overnight at the Ice Hotel - warm accommodation. (B)

First Class: The Ice Hotel or similar accommodations

After breakfast, the day is yours to continue exploring your immediate area. Tonight, you will overnight at the Ice Hotel in an ice room. The ice rooms are particularly comfortable – you will get a good night’s sleep at 23 degrees Fahrenheit. You will sleep in thermal sleeping bags on a special bed built of snow and ice, on top of reindeer skins. (B)

Ice Hotel – Kiruna – Return

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Kiruna airport to catch a flight to your next destination. (B)
