Best Time To Visit

Since Izmir has mostly a Mediterranean climate with relatively low rainfall, a cool sea breeze during the nights and heat and dry summers, it is best to visit during the months of June to August. The weather will be the most pleasant then and you will have the opportunity to explore Izmir and its surroundings. Passport/Visa

Visa-free entry for the purpose of tourism is granted to citizens of 78 countries, which includes nearly all of Europe and other countries around the world. Public Transport

Dolmuş is a shared minibus or van that operates on set routes, picking up and dropping off passengers along the way. These minibuses provide an affordable and flexible means of public transportation in İzmir, connecting various neighbourhoods and locations within the city. Passengers can hail a dolmuş at designated stops, and the fare is usually paid directly to the driver upon boarding. Ferries shuttle between Konak and Alsancak. The return crossing takes 1 hr 15 mins. The metro is probably the least effective way of getting around İzmir.

Taxi

Taxis can be flagged down on the street or found at designated taxi stands located throughout the city. These are typically at busy transportation hubs, major squares, and popular areas. Alternatively, you can book a taxi through apps like Uber and BiTaksi. Taxis in Izmir are generally safe and reliable, but it's always a good practice to be cautious and use licensed taxis to avoid any issues.
