1

Arrival - Anchorage

Upon arrival in Anchorage, meet the representative and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing and getting to know Anchorage.

Anchorage

Today, experience the breathtaking landscape of the Turnagain Arm on a half-day tour with an informative guide. Ride along the scenic Seward Parkway to the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge and Beluga Point, stopping for photo ops and wildlife observation. Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a large nature preserve where injured animals are rehabilitated. Continue to the town of Girdwood for lunch, then travel up into the Chugach Mountains for another great vantage point on the Turnagain Arm before returning to Anchorage.

Anchorage

This morning, explore the many activities in and around Anchorage. You may want to try your hand at panning for gold, delve into Native culture at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, or take a glacier photography tour to capture the incredible landscapes. Or, consider a full-day trip to Seward aboard a train with glass dome ceilings for panoramic views of the stunning Alaska coast. With this excursion, you'll have the chance to admire the rugged coastline, Chugach Mountains, river canyons, glaciers, waterfalls, and backcountry wilderness on one of the Alaska Railroad's most scenic sections. Enjoy free time in Seward before the return ride in the evening.

Anchorage - Fairbanks

This morning, make your way to the airport for your flight to Fairbanks. On arrival in Fairbanks, meet the representative and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day getting settled in Fairbanks. Depending on the season, you can look for either the aurora borealis (August through April) or enjoy the midnight sun (May to July).

Fairbanks

Today, spend your day exploring Fairbanks and its surroundings. You may want to discover Alaska’s natural hot springs and amazing ice sculptures on a full-day tour to Chena Hot Springs from Fairbanks. Enjoy a scenic 60-mile (95-km) drive to Chena Hot Springs, where you can soak in the large outdoor pool of this legendary resort. You can also take a tour that showcases how Chena Hot Springs makes use of geothermal energy to power the resort, and check out the sculptures in the Aurora Ice Museum.

Fairbanks

Today, discover what Fairbanks has to offer. Explore the city’s cultural scene at the many art galleries, museums, and studios around town, learn about Alaskan history from Native peoples to the Gold Rush, or get active with dog mushing, ecotours, or flightseeing. Consider a full-day tour and hike to one of the most popular points in the area, Wickersham Dome. Your expert guide will share local knowledge about the wildlife and flora of the area as you enjoy a moderately challenging hike through spectacular wilderness up to the top of Wickersham Dome to take in awe-inspiring views.
