Arica - Arrival

Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a half-day city tour of Arica.

Lauca National Park - Chungara Lake
Moderate first class: Hotel Diego de Almagro or similar accommodations
You will visit the town of Socoroma and El Lauca National Park, a nature sanctuary with the Chungara Lake, the highest lake in the world (14,820 ft above the sea level). View the Parinacota, Pomerape, Quinchazata and Guallatire volcanoes in the distance. In this spectacular landscape you will also be able to spot hundreds of guanacos, alpacas, vicunas, llamas and vizcachas. Stop in Putre for lunch and a tour of the town. Return to Arica. (B)

Azapa Valley

Enjoy a half-day tour to this fertile valley bordering the Sombrero Hill. Visit the Archaeological Museum of San Miguel de Azapa with permanent and temporary exhibitions of the area's ancient heritage. (B)
