Day 1: Karibu Tanzania — Arrival in Arusha

Your journey begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a warm welcome and swift clearance through customs and immigration lead to a private transfer to your hotel. Tonight's stay is at the Gran Meliã Arusha Hotel, in a deluxe city view room on a bed and breakfast basis, offering a relaxed, comfortable introduction to Tanzania before the safari begins in earnest tomorrow. With the rest of the day at leisure, take the opportunity to rest after your flight, explore the hotel's amenities, or simply settle into the rhythm of East African travel ahead of an early departure into the bush.

Day 2: Rim of the World — Arusha to Ngorongoro

Following breakfast and a thorough safari briefing, a private 4x4 safari vehicle carries you toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, with optional activities available at an additional cost, giving time to soak in one of Africa's most dramatic settings before dinner. Perched on the crater rim, tonight's stay is at Ngorongoro Lodge by Meliã Collection, in a rim room on an all-inclusive meal plan covering meals and local drinks — filtered water, juice, soft drinks, local beer, house wine, and non-premium spirits.

Day 3: Into the Crater — A Day Among 30,000 Animals

An early departure carries you down to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife arenas. Within just 102 square miles, more than 30,000 resident mammals create exceptional odds of spotting all of the Big Five in a single day. A picnic lunch is enjoyed at a scenic spot within the crater before the afternoon return to the rim, and back to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Few wildlife experiences anywhere in the world match the sheer density and drama of a full day spent within this ancient volcanic caldera. Overnight at Ngorongoro Lodge by Meliã Collection.

Day 4: Cradle of Mankind — Ngorongoro to the Serengeti

Departing Ngorongoro, the journey continues toward Serengeti National Park, with a stop at Olduvai Gorge, the site of several landmark archaeological discoveries by the Leakey family, alongside a small museum displaying artifacts found there. Arriving at the lodge in time for lunch, the afternoon brings a game drive across the Serengeti's vast golden grassland, home to the Big Five alongside cheetah, hyena, and the great herds of the annual migration. Returning for sunset, dinner and overnight follow at Meliã Serengeti Lodge, in a lagoon view room on the same all-inclusive meal plan.

Day 5: Sunrise Over the Serengeti — A Day of Game Drives

For early risers, an optional shared hot air balloon safari lifts off at sunrise, drifting silently over the plains before descending to treetop level for an intimate view of the wildlife below, followed by a celebratory bush breakfast (offered at additional cost). For everyone else, the day unfolds with both morning and afternoon game drives across the Serengeti's endless grassland, tracking lion, elephant, leopard, and the great migratory herds that define this landscape. Dinner and overnight follow back at Meliã Serengeti Lodge, capping a full day immersed in one of Africa's most celebrated wilderness areas.

Day 6: Serengeti at Your Pace — A Final Day of Wildlife

Your final full day in the Serengeti offers flexibility — choose from early morning, morning, and afternoon game drives with meals at the lodge, or set out on a full day game drive with a picnic lunch for maximum time in the bush. Either way, the endless plains continue to reveal the Serengeti's remarkable wildlife density, from prides of lion to sweeping herds of wildebeest and zebra. As the day winds down, dinner and overnight await once more at Meliã Serengeti Lodge, a fitting final night immersed in one of the world's greatest wildlife theatres.
