Day 1: Touchdown — Welcome to Tanzania

Your journey begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a warm welcome and swift clearance through customs and immigration lead to a private transfer to your hotel. Tonight's stay is at the Gran Melia, in a deluxe city view room on a bed and breakfast basis, offering a comfortable and relaxed introduction to Tanzania before the safari begins in earnest tomorrow. With the rest of the day at leisure, take the opportunity to rest after your flight, explore the hotel's amenities, or simply settle into the rhythm of East African travel ahead of an early departure into the bush.

Day 2: Baobab Country — Arusha to Tarangire

Following breakfast, the journey continues to Tarangire National Park, with game viewing beginning the moment you pass through the park gate en route to the lodge, arriving in time for lunch. After a chance to enjoy the lodge's facilities, an afternoon game drive tracks Tarangire's celebrated elephant herds against a backdrop of ancient baobab trees and sweeping views across the Maasai Steppe. Returning to the lodge as the sun sets, dinner and overnight await at Tarangire Kuro Treetops, a full-board property immersed in one of Tanzania's most game-rich landscapes.

Day 3: Escarpment Views — Tarangire to Lake Manyara

An early morning game drive delivers one last taste of Tarangire's wildlife before returning to the lodge for breakfast. From there, the journey continues to Lake Manyara National Park, arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. After some time to enjoy the lodge's facilities, an afternoon game drive explores Manyara's varied terrain, known for its tree-climbing lions and prolific birdlife along the shores of its shallow alkaline lake. Returning for sunset, dinner and overnight are spent at Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge, perched above the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment.

Day 4: Endless Plains — Manyara to the Serengeti

The journey continues today to the legendary Serengeti National Park, arriving at camp in time for lunch. After a chance to settle in and enjoy the camp's facilities, an afternoon game drive introduces the vast golden grassland that gives the Serengeti its name, home to the Big Five alongside cheetah, hyena, and the great herds of the annual migration. Returning to camp as the sun sets, dinner and overnight follow at Ole Serai Moru Kopjes, a full-board camp set amid the Serengeti's iconic granite outcrops and endless horizons.

Day 5: Sunrise Over the Serengeti — A Day of Game Drives

For early risers, an optional shared hot air balloon safari lifts off at sunrise, drifting silently over the plains before descending to treetop level for an intimate view of the wildlife below, followed by a celebratory bush breakfast (offered at additional cost). For everyone else, the day unfolds with both morning and afternoon game drives across the Serengeti's endless grassland, tracking lion, elephant, leopard, and the great migratory herds that define this landscape. Departing the Serengeti, the journey continues toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with game viewing en route, including a stop at Olduvai Gorge, the site of several landmark archaeological discoveries by the Leakey family, with a small museum displaying some of the artifacts found there. A visit to a Maasai cultural village follows, offering genuine insight into traditional life in the region. Arriving at the lodge for a late lunch and time at leisure, the evening closes with a special Boma dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge, set amid the highlands overlooking the crater.
