Day 1
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, clear customs and immigration, then meet our representative outside the arrivals hall for your transfer to Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge. Set among the rolling coffee plantations on the slopes of Mount Meru, this elegant retreat captures the charm of a colonial-era estate, with spacious plantation rooms, polished wooden floors and private verandas overlooking the coffee bushes. Spend the rest of the day relaxing after your journey, perhaps by the pool or in the gardens, then enjoy a leisurely evening as you prepare for the safari adventure ahead.

Day 2
Day 2: From Bean to Cup, then Tarangire
After breakfast, step into the world of Tanzanian coffee on a "Bean to Cup" tour of the surrounding estate, following the journey from cherry-red berry to freshly roasted brew and finishing with a tasting. Enjoy lunch at the lodge, then set off for Tarangire, game viewing along the way through a landscape of ancient baobabs and grazing elephants. Arrive at Elewana Tarangire Treetops, where elevated tented tree houses are built around giant baobab and marula trees, and toast your arrival in the bush with sundowner cocktails as the sun sets over the plains, followed by dinner under the stars.

Day 3: Elephants of Tarangire
Spend a full day exploring Tarangire on morning and afternoon game drives. Famous for its huge elephant herds, especially in the dry season, when they gather along the Tarangire River, the park is also home to lion, leopard, giraffe, buffalo and more than 550 bird species. Watch elephants dig for water in the dry riverbed, search for lions resting in the shade of the baobabs, and take in sweeping views across the Maasai Steppe. Between drives, relax in your treehouse with views across the bush, then return in the evening for dinner as the sounds of the night drift up through the branches.

Day 4
Day 4: Bush Walk, Gibb's Farm and the Crater Rim
Begin with an escorted bush walk through the private conservancy surrounding the lodge, learning to read tracks and discover the smaller wonders of the bush on foot. Then journey into the green highlands for lunch at historic Gibb's Farm, a beloved coffee estate famous for its farm-to-table cuisine. In the afternoon, set off on a guided hike through the Ngorongoro Forest, with views of the elephant caves and a hidden waterfall. Continue to Ngorongoro Explorer by Elewana on the crater's eastern rim, arriving in time for a breathtaking sunset over the caldera before dinner.

Day 5
Day 5: The Ngorongoro Crater
Set off early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife sanctuaries. Within its walls, around 100 square miles of grassland, swamp, forest and soda lake support a remarkable concentration of wildlife, giving you an excellent chance of spotting the Big Five, including the rare black rhino. Watch lion prides on the hunt, hyenas patrolling the plains, and flamingos on the shimmering lake. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot on the crater floor, then climb back to the rim in the afternoon for a relaxed evening at the lodge.

Day 6
Day 6: Olduvai Gorge to the Serengeti
Leave the highlands and travel west toward the Serengeti, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, where the Leakey family made some of the world's most important discoveries about human origins, and its small museum displays fossils and artefacts found at the site. Visit a traditional Maasai village to learn about the customs of one of East Africa's most iconic cultures, and see the Shifting Sands, a striking crescent-shaped dune slowly moved across the plains by the wind. Arrive at Serengeti Explorer by Elewana for lunch, then set out on your first afternoon game drive across the endless plains.

Day 7: The Endless Plains
For an unforgettable start, take to the skies on a sunrise hot-air balloon safari (additional cost), drifting silently over the plains as the wildlife stirs below, followed by a celebratory bush breakfast. Otherwise, set out on a morning game drive when the predators are most active, searching for lions on the kopjes, leopards in the acacia trees and cheetahs scanning the grasslands. Return to the lodge to relax during the heat of the day, then head out again in thesese afternoon, perhaps encountering the great herds of the migration, depending on the season, before returning for dinner.

Day 8: A Final Day in the Serengeti
Make the most of your last full day on safari with morning and afternoon game drives, exploring new corners of the Serengeti and following up on the week's best sightings. Watch elephants move across the horizon, hippos wallow in the river pools, and the countless antelope, zebra and giraffe that graze the plains. As evening falls, celebrate your journey with a farewell boma dinner, gathering around the fire beneath a sky full of stars to share stories of the unforgettable encounters of the past week.

Day 9: Serengeti to Arusha
After breakfast, transfer to Seronera airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Arusha, departing at 11:30 and arriving at around 12:05, with sweeping final views of the plains and the Crater Highlands below. You're met on arrival and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge for a farewell lunch (drinks excluded), before continuing to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your onward journey. Travelers connecting at Arusha Airport receive a picnic lunch instead.
