Athens – Arrival
Welcome to Athens! Upon arrival at Athens Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Consider an Athens orientation walking tour in the afternoon.
In the morning, we recommend a private half-day tour of Acropolis Hill and Museum to get acquainted with the ancient heart of this iconic city. Marvel at some of the most famous archaeological landmarks in the world and learn from your expert guide about the history and influence of ancient Greek culture. This afternoon, you may choose to explore the city at your leisure, or you may choose an optional Athens Flavors tour to visit local artisanal food producers and specialty gastronomic boutiques to sample sweet and savory treats and learn about traditional Greek recipes and culinary traditions.
Athens to Nafplion
This morning, pick up your rental vehicle and set out for a scenic 2-hours drive from Athens to the archaeological site of Mycenae Explore the glory of the ancient Mycenaean civilization and discover the gems of Nafplio, one of the best-preserved neoclassical towns in Greece with a guided tour of the site and museum. Admire the ruins of this fascinating civilization and learn from your expert guide about the Mycenean people and their way of life. Afterwards, visit the picturesque and romantic seaside town of Nafplio. Stroll along the cobblestone alleys and take in the beautiful architecture while learning about the town’s long and illustrious history. You will also have a chance to stop at the spectacular archaeological site of Epidaurus to admire the ancient theatre and the famous Asklepion shrine. Overnight in Nafplion.

Nafplion to Olympia
Today, drive approximately 2-hours and 40-minutes through the central Peloponnese and visit the charming mountain villages of Vytina and Dimitsana. Enjoy the stunning views from these picturesque towns as you stroll the cobbled paths among ancient stone houses and discover a local restaurant for an authentic Greek lunch. Continue your journey as you drive through beautiful landscapes and reach the famous town of Olympia in the afternoon. Overnight in Olympia.
Explore Olympia, one of Greece’s most important archaeological sites and home to the first ancient Olympic Games. Visit the Ancient Stadium, the temples of Zeus and Hera, and the impressive Archaeological Museum, showcasing the area’s rich history and findings from local excavations.
Olympia to Kalamata
Enjoy approximately 1-hour and 40-minutes drive from Olympia to Kalamata, a small coastal city with gorgeous beaches, stunning architecture, and plenty of chances to sample the delicious namesake olives. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit one of the area’s many attractions, including the Archaeological Museum, Old Town, Railway Museum, or the ancient city of Messini, or simply relax by sparkling turquoise waters on one of the lovely beaches. Options abound in beautiful Messenia! You may choose to visit the charming town of Pylos and its imposing historic castles, explore the twin castle-towns of Methoni and Koroni, once gems of the Republic of Venice and today home to picturesque stone houses, long, sandy beaches, and an abundance of small cafes and tavernas. Or you might decide to explore the mysterious Mani region to enjoy its rugged mountainous beauty, isolated traditional villages, and rich history. Overnight in Kalamata.
Kalamata to Athens
In the morning, drive approximately 2-hours and 45-minutes back to Athens to see more of this incredible city. Upon arrival, return your rental vehicle and do some last-minute shopping, explore the city’s many unique neighbourhoods, and partake in Athens’ lively café and taverna scene.
Athens – Return
In the morning, you will be transferred to Athens Airport to check-in your onward flight.
