1
Cairo - Arrival
Deluxe Class: Steigenberger Pyramids Hotel or similar accommodations

You will be greeted upon arrival at Cairo airport and then transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Cairo. At the hotel, your local representative will assist you with a smooth check-in and review your itinerary with you to confirm your tour and transfer times. The remainder of the evening is at your leisure.

The Pyramids of Giza, Memphis & Sakkara

Fuel your day with breakfast at your hotel before meeting your guide for a full day of exploring the great pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinos. You’ll also meet the structures’ fearless guardian, the mysterious Sphinx. After some freetime for lunch (not included) you will continue your day with a visit to the Sakkara Pyramids, built by the world-famous architect, Imhotep. Following your visit of Sakkara, you’ll head to Memphis, the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch. This afternoon, head back to Cairo and consider an optional sunset camel ride at the pyramids followed by a Bedouin dinner, an optional Sound & Light Show at the pyramids, or an optional dinner cruise on the Nile, complete with a belly dancing performance on board! Cairo - Luxor

Following breakfast, meet your driver for a private transfer to the airport for your short flight from Cairo to Luxor (approx. 55 mins). Upon arrival in Luxor, you’ll be met be your local representative for assitance at the airport before meeting your guide for a tour around the striking Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amun, followed by the Temple of Karnak. Following your guided visits, you’ll take your private transfer to your hotel for check-in and dinner at your leisure. (B)

Discover the West Bank of Luxor

Today you will have the benefit of an experienced Egyptologist to guide you through the West Bank of Luxor, visiting the Valley of the Kings and the chance to visit at least one tomb at the Valley of the Queens. You’ll also visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut before heading back to the Nile, passing the famed Colossi of Memmnon en route. Tonight, you have the option to take a hot air balloon ride over the West Bank to witness these ancient sites from the air. You may also consider an optional Sound & Light Show at Karnak Temple, a visit to the Mummification Museum, or a city tour of Luxor by horse and carriage. (B)

Luxor - Aswan

This morning, take your private transfer to Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus, considered to be one of the most beautiful and preserved temples in Egypt. Next, drive to Kom Ombo to visit the magnificent Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the god Sobek. After your visit here, continue your drive to Aswan where you will check-in to your hotel before boarding a relaxing felucca sailing around Aswan’s islands. Consider, this evening, an optional Sound & Light Show at Philae Temple, an optional horse and carriage ride through Aswan, or a Nubian Village tour by traditional felucca. (B)

Aswan - Cairo - Alexandria

Enjoy your breakfast before a private transfer to Aswan airport. You will catch a short flight back to Cairo(approx. 1 hr 20 mins), where you will meet your driver for a private transfer to your hotel in Alexandria. The rest of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Alexandria Sightseeing - Cairo

Breakfast at hotel, then check out and embark on a day tour of Alexandria’s greatest sights. We will visit Pompey’s Pillar, a massive ancient monolith that is the largest constructed outside of the former imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. The nearby Kom el-Shoqafa Catacombs are one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages and were discovered by chance at the onset of the 20th century. Also, on the schedule is the Alexandrina Bibliotheca, or New Library of Alexandria. It is dedicated to recapturing the spirit of openness and scholarship of the original Bibliotheca Alexandrina and in addition to being a library, also houses 4 museums, 19 art galleries, a planetarium, and a manuscript restoration laboratory. You will also see the Citadel of Qaitbay, a fortress that has been guarding the bay since the 15th century, and Al Montazah Gardens, a 150-hectare park surrounding the palace of Khedive Abbas that is brimming with stunning gardens, sandy beaches, and architecture worthy of Walt Disney himself! Return and overnight in Cairo. (B)

Discover Cairo

Dive deep into the ancient history of Egypt with a guided visit of the Egyptian Museum, filled with treasures from the pre-dynastic period to the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms of Pharaonic Egypt. You may also visit the famous exhibit dedicated to King Tut Ankhamon and the earie royal mummy rooms. Before your lunch break (not included), you’ll have freetime to explore the museum at your own pace. After lunch, you’ll continue with a visit of the Khan El Khalili Bazaars, the major souk (or market) in the Islamic district of Cairo. End your day with a walking tour of Cairo by night, including Al-Muizz li Din Allah al-Fatimi Street, one of the oldest streets in Cairo and possessing the greatest collection of medieval architectural treasures in the Islamic world. Following a final breakfast in Egypt, you will meet your driver for a private transfer to Cairo airport for your return flight home.
