1

Cape Town - Arrival

Superior First Class: AC Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront or similar accommodations

Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the evening is at your leisure.

Discover Cape Town and Table Mountain

Begin the day with a tour of the city, driving past famous landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope, City Hall and the Grand Parade. Drive down Adderley Stree to see the Anglican Diocese of Nobel Peace Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Pass the Company Gardens and the Malay Quarter, situated on the slopes of Table Mountain. Continue with a look at the art of diamond cutting and jewelry-making. After this, you will have the option of continuing to Table Mountain, reaching the summit by cable car. (B)

Explore Cape Town

Enjoy a full day in Cape Town at your leisure to explore. We recommend considering an optional excursion to visit the Cape Peninsula. Meander along the Atlantic Coast, passing Sea Point, Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles. Arriving in Hout Bay, you can take an optional boat trip to Duiker Island to see the Cape Fur Seals. Next, you will travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve for the opportunity to ride in the Funicular. Continue to False Bay with a stop in historic Simons Town to visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. End your tour with the stunning Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens before returning to Cape Town. Alternatively, you may wish to take a tour of the South African Winelands to visit Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek to sample the region’s world-class wines. (B)

Cape Town – Mossel Bay

This morning you will meet your guide for the next three days at your hotel. Leave Cape Town after an early morning breakfast for a drive along Sir Lowry’s Pass, with magnificent views, to the lush landscapes of Grabouw and Elgin. Your journey will continue to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of the African continent, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Next, head to Mossel Bay through the historic town of Swellendam. Upon arrival in Mossel Bay, check-in to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B)

Mossel Bay - Oudtshoorn

Superior First Class: La Plume Boutique Guest House or similar accommodations

Bid farewell to Mossel Bay after breakfast and continue your journey to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world and home to the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves. Here you will visit an ostrich farm before heading to a local estate for a wine tasting. Later, tour the Cango Caves, sculpted by nature throughout the ages. (B)

Oudtshoorn - Knysna

Head out this morning over the Outeniqua Pass to George, the sixth oldest town in South Africa, with many historical landmarks include the Slave Tree and King Edward VII’s Library. Continue your tour via Wilderness, an attractive holiday resort, on your way to Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa. Here you will enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head for panoramic views of the town and lagoon. Return to the town for lunch followed by the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure. (B,L)

Knysna – Port Elizabeth – Addo National Park

Superior First Class: Amakhala Woodbury Lodge or similar accommodations

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Port Elizabeth along the Tsitsikamma Forest. Upon arrival, bid farewell to your local guide and meet your driver for your transfer to Addo National Park. Upon arrival, settle into your room before heading out on an afternoon game drive. (B,L,D)

Discover Addo National Park

Superior First Class: Amakhala Woodbury Lodge or similar accommodations

Enjoy a morning game drive, when the weather is cooler and the wildlife is beginning to stir. Head back to the lodge for a short rest or a dip in the pool before your afternoon game drive, ideal for spotting interactions between predator and prey. (B,L,D)

Port Elizabeth – Return

Enjoy a final South African breakfast before being transferred to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
