An Unforgettable Experience at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle The Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle delivers hospitality perfection in every possible way. It is, without question, the finest example of a customer-focused staff culture I have ever experienced. Every member of the team demonstrates genuine warmth, attentiveness, and pride in creating unforgettable moments for their guests. The accommodations themselves are extraordinary. The luxury tree-house style tents are among the most remarkable I have ever seen—beautifully designed, private, and immersed in the surrounding jungle landscape. The entire property feels like stepping into an ultra-luxury safari adventure. Even the restaurant surrounds you in themed elegance while maintaining the relaxed comfort of being in nature. But the true magic of this resort lies in the elephant experiences. The guided jungle encounters are intimate and thoughtfully designed, with groups of six or fewer guests. Walking alongside these magnificent animals through the jungle is a deeply moving experience. The guides are exceptional, offering insight into the elephants while also ensuring many opportunities to capture photographs that you will cherish for a lifetime. Each morning brings another unforgettable moment. During breakfast, two elephants stroll up to join the guests, creating a 90-minute window where you can hand-feed them fruits and vegetables. I often spent nearly an hour simply feeding them, completely mesmerized by the experience. It is pure joy and something you simply cannot replicate anywhere else. All meals and drinks are included, and the culinary quality is outstanding. The local dishes in particular were exceptional—fresh, vibrant, and beautifully prepared. In the evening, the resort’s uniquely designed bar offers expansive countryside views, making it the perfect place to enjoy the sunset with a cocktail in hand. One of the highlights of our stay was a private celebration dinner at the highest point of the resort. The experience was breathtaking—complete with two private chefs, musicians, attentive wait staff, and transportation to the site. Releasing candle lanterns into the night sky was a magical moment that we will never forget. This is a resort that creates wonder at every turn. Every experience feels thoughtfully crafted and deeply personal. We left feeling as though we had made new friends—both human and elephant—and we cannot wait to return.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this experience. My husband and I came here on our honeymoon, and we still can’t believe the magic of the entire property. From the moment we were greeted upon arrival to every interaction with Ralph and the incredible staff, we truly didn’t have to lift a finger. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for something truly special. Poy, the camp manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with and even lovelier in person. We also loved our mornings at breakfast with Bo and Linda — such a warm, thoughtful way to start each day. Thank you all for an unforgettable stay. A true 10/10 experience.
We had a fabulous stay at the Tented Camp. All of the staff were wonderful (particular shout out to Petch!) and we loved meeting the elephants. Sitting out on our balcony with a morning coffee watching the birds and the elephants cannot be beaten. We would love to visit again!
🇹🇭 Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle — Chiang Rai, Thailand Luxury Wildlife Sanctuary • Stayed March 2024 (3 Nights) A hotel where elephants replace infinity pools, jungle sunsets replace skyline bars, and silence has the value of Michelin stars. 🐘 A Sanctuary, Not a Resort This is not a “hotel stay.” It is a nature immersion with ethical proximity to elephants, where you live inside the Golden Triangle jungle bordering Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. There are only 15 tents, each designed like an explorer’s villa — teak wood, handmade furniture, copper bathtub facing the river, private terrace watching elephants bathe. 💡 Tents are fully air-conditioned, insect-protected, more comfortable than many penthouses. 🦣 Elephant Interaction: Ethical, Not Touristic Guests do not pet, feed, or ride elephants. You observe, walk with them, and learn their history. There are two types of interactions: • Morning Jungle Walk: elephants wander freely, guests follow with guides • River Bath Viewing: elephants bathe without human interference ⚠️ Tip: People afraid of large animals might feel overwhelmed. They walk extremely close — sometimes within arm’s reach. 🛏 Accommodation: Tented Villas 🌅 River-view terraces with daybeds facing Laos 🛁 Outdoor copper bathtubs (sunset baths recommended) 🌡 Strong air-conditioning (no humidity problem) 🦟 Natural oils + iscreet misting system keep insects away 💡 Request tents near the Elephant Camp if you want frequent sightings, or farther away if you prefer full silence. 🥘 Dining: Jungle Fine Dining No buffet. Everything tailored to each guest’s preferences, discussed in advance. Highlights to request: 🍲 Northern Thai Khao Soi (signature) 🔥 Grilled river prawns with nam jim 🥭 Mango sticky rice with warm coconut drizzle Cocktails use regional herbs and Mekong spices. 🧖♀️ Spa & Well-Being Treatments take place in an open-air bamboo hut. The Mekong Herbal Compress Massage uses herbs picked from the jungle that morning. 💡 The spa here is not glamorous — it is sensory, raw, incredibly healing. 🦺 Safety & Security Maximum privacy — no outsiders are allowed inside the property Discreet border security due to proximity to Myanmar/Laos Staff accompany guests on jungle paths at night Elephants are monitored by mahouts at all times ⚠️ Not recommended for people uncomfortable with wildlife movements at night. 🚘 Transfers & Arrival Guests arrive via private boat across the Ruak River. Luggage is handled from airport to tent without you touching a single item. ✈️ Closest Airport: Chiang Rai (CEI) ⛴️ Boat transfer included in stay 💡 Arriving after sunset is magical — lanterns guide the pathway. 💶 Price Level Extreme luxury pricing. But this is not a hotel bill — it is a conservation contribution. ✔️ All meals, excursions, guides, boat transfers, spa discounts, elephant programs are included. ❤️ Who Will Love It Couples seeking nature luxury Wildlife lovers, documentary fans Guests who dislike crowds and prefer silence Honeymooners who want something non-cliché 🔍 Who May Not Love It People afraid of large animals Travelers wanting nightlife or beaches Guests expecting marble lobbies and city glamour 🏁 Final Thought If luxury is measured in time, silence, untouched nature, ethical respect, and the ability to feel something new — then Four Seasons Golden Triangle is one of the world’s most luxurious hotels. Here, elephants are not the attraction. They are the hosts, and we are the visitors.
I will talk about our experience here and the reason that I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 5 stars, because the place is beautiful, the rooms amazing, the staff unique and the nicest of all, the food excellent, the elephants one in a lifetime experience, and one of the best massages I had in my life. BUT in our stay and don't know if it's always the case, there is a Nightclub crossing the river that puts its music so high you can hear it all night and definitely doesn't let you sleep. So for paying USD 3,600.00 the night and not being able to sleep is not what you are expecting. They give you earplugs but is not enough for the annoying sound you hear of the music. I know is not the hotel fault but for something that can affect your stay significantly they need to come up with a solution for guests, as the rooms are tents there are no walls or windows to place for insulation. This is my most objective review and believe me this place is amazing, but I won't be able to recommend the place to other people knowing something very significant like this occurs occasionally or often, don't know if it's all the time, it can happen as it happened to us about the annoying music, be careful when booking and maybe ask before planning. I have stayed in many Four Seasons before and traveled around the world, as a personal experience I want to say thank you for everything and appreciate the love and care you had for us, hope that this is something you can come with a better solution for future guests.
