Two of Botswana's most distinctive wildernesses, woven into a single nine-day journey. Begin inside Chobe National Park itself, at the only permanent safari lodge within its boundaries — four nights of game drives chasing the Big Five, river-bound boat safaris, cultural excursions and nights beneath some of Africa's darkest skies. From here, the journey shifts entirely: a flight to Maun and onward by charter delivers you deep into the Okavango Delta, to a remote island camp built around water rather than land. Four more nights unfold by mokoro and motorboat, chasing tigerfish, tracing island trails, and drifting through papyrus-lined channels at a pace set by water rather than road. A safari of true contrast — the density and drama of Chobe's interior, followed by the Delta's slow, immersive hush.

Sanctuary Within the Park
Touch down at Kasane Airport for a short transfer into Chobe National Park itself — home to the only permanent safari lodge within its boundaries. Arriving at a setting overlooking the Chobe River and the floodplains beyond, check in to your standard room before the lodge's easy rhythm takes hold. Take a first stroll past the library, pool and stargazing deck, then settle in for a sundowner as the light fades over the floodplain. With the Big Five roaming just beyond the lodge's boundary, dinner on the restaurant terrace is the perfect welcome to a stay defined by unrivalled proximity to the wild.

Where Land Meets River
Set out on a 4x4 game drive deep into the park's interior, tracking the movements of elephant, lion, buffalo and the other members of the Big Five across Chobe's celebrated terrain. Return to the lodge for lunch and time to explore its amenities — a dip in the pool, a visit to the beauty salon, or a quiet hour in the library. As afternoon cools, board a motorized boat safari along the Chobe River, where game gathers in numbers at the water's edge and the Caprivi floodplains stretch out beyond. An evening at the Thwene cigar bar, billiards table in hand, rounds out a day spent between land and water.

Step beyond wildlife viewing with a cultural excursion into the surrounding community, gaining insight into the traditions and daily life that share this landscape with Chobe's famous game. Pair this with an eco tour exploring the park's conservation efforts and delicate ecosystems, from riverine forest to open floodplain. Back at the lodge, relax at the pool or gym before an evening meal on the terrace. As night falls, head up to the stargazing deck, where Chobe's dark skies open into a canopy rarely seen beyond Africa's remote wilderness areas.

Your final full day inside the park offers a last chance to choose between its signature experiences — an early 4x4 game drive chasing the Big Five through golden morning light, or another motorized boat safari along the river's game-rich banks. Spend the afternoon at leisure, whether poolside, in the library, or at the beauty salon, before a final excursion of your choosing rounds out your stay. A last dinner on the terrace, followed by a nightcap at the cigar bar or a final visit to the stargazing deck, brings a fitting close to days spent inside one of Africa's most storied parks.

From Riverbank to Reed Bed
After a final breakfast and check out, transfer by road back to Kasane Airport for a connecting flight to Maun, watching Chobe's floodplains dissolve into open bush below. On arrival, transfer straight to your charter flight, tracing a path over the Delta's endless maze of lagoons, lakes and looping channels. Landing on a remote island deep within this watery wilderness, you're welcomed to a camp built around water rather than land — a rare vantage point in Africa's largest delta. Settle into your suite, raised on teak platforms beneath thatch and framed by reed and lagoon, before an easy afternoon exploring by mokoro, the traditional dugout canoe gliding silently through papyrus-lined channels. Back at camp, a leisurely lunch precedes a guided nature walk to a neighboring island, tracing footpaths through palm and papyrus where guides reveal the Delta's smaller wonders — tracks, plants and birdlife often missed from the water.
