Copenhagen – Arrival

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (Your arrival transfer is included only if you arrive on the actual day the tour commences. For customers arriving earlier an individual transfer can be organized at an additional cost.)

Copenhagen

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning we depart by private coach with our guide for a panoramic sightseeing tour of Copenhagen. This tour will be the perfect introduction to “Wonderful Copenhagen”. We begin with a drive towards the City Hall Square where the famous pedestrian street “Stroeget” begins. Passing by Tivoli Gardens and onwards past the New Carlsberg Glyptotheque and the National Museum. Next, it is the Old Stock Exchange and the Naval Church. We drive past the Kings New Square, the home of the Royal Danish Theatre with the world-famous ballet, then through the old canal area, Nyhavn, with is picturesque houses and boats. We continue to the impressive Gefion Fountain and the Royal residence, Amalienborg Palace. Finally, we stop by the landmark of Copenhagen, the statue of the Little Mermaid. During the tour, you can also delight in Christiansborg Palace from the outside, as well as Rosenborg Castle, which houses the Crown Jewels. (B)

Copenhagen – Oslo
First Class: DFDS Seaways Overnight Ferry or similar accommodations
Copenhagen is Scandinavia’s largest and most lively city and one of Europe’s most romantic capitals with its old castles and churches and charming squares and harbors. Your morning sightseeing tour will acquaint you with all the city’s treasures: the Little Mermaid guarding the port, the Royal Castle, Nyhavn with its restaurants and small boats and the City Hall Square. In the afternoon, embark on an overnight ferry bound for Oslo. The ferry offers a wide choice of restaurants, bars, shops and more. (B,D)

Oslo – Eidfjord
First Class: Quality Hotel Voringfoss or similar accommodations
Founded in 1048, Oslo is Scandinavia’s oldest capital and today it is a very pleasant and casual city with an interesting jumble of historical and modern architecture. Upon arrival in Oslo, you will head directly to Hoenefoss, surrounded by pine forests and lakes, to arrive in the beautiful Hallingdal Valley. Visit Gol and arrive in Geilo, a small town surrounded by mountains. Then, continue to Hardangervidda where you will visit the Voringfossen Waterfall before arriving in Eidfjord for overnight. (B)

Eidfjord – Bergen

This morning, travel further into the breathtaking Norwegian nature. Cross the splendid Hardanger Fjord, by travelling across the Hardanger Bridge which has one of the longest suspension bridge spans in the world. On the other side of the bridge, pass Nordheimsund to arrive in Bergen – known as the capital of the fjords. Situated on a peninsula surrounded by 7 mountains, Bergen has a historic connection with the sea which is very noticeable in the city, especially at the its picturesque waterfront. This afternoon’s sightseeing tour introduces you to this remarkable Hanseatic city with the Bryggen area of old wooden houses, the traditional fish market and the city center with St. Mary’s Church and Haakon’s Hall. Bergen – Stalheim
First Class: Stalheim Hotel or similar accommodations
The morning is at leisure to explore more of the stunning Norwegian fjord capital. In the early afternoon you will travel to the historical town of Voss with a scenic background of snow clad mountains. Continue towards the Naroy Valley and reach Stalheim, offering a stunning view down the Stalheim Gorge. (B,D)

Stalheim – Flam - Fagernes
First Class: Scandic Valdres or similar accommodations
Today, continue through the fjord region with its formidable water-drowned glacial valleys, flanked by impossible rugged terrain to Gudvangen where you will cross the Naroyfjord to reach the village of Flam. Consider joining an optional tour on the Flam Railway, one of the most famous and most breathtaking railway journeys in the world. In the afternoon, your journey continues along the Aurlandfjord. Stop for photographs at the famous Borgund Stave Church before reaching Fagernes. (B)

Fagernes – Oslo

After breakfast, you will leave the majestic Norwegian fjords behind you and travel back to Oslo which you will reach early in the afternoon. Founded in 1048, Oslo is Scandinavia’s oldest capital and today it is a very pleasant and casual city with an interesting jumble of historical and modern architecture. Upon arrival in Oslo, enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour. Walk around Frogner Park decorated with unique sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. Pass by the city hall and the main street, Karl Johan, leading to the royal palace. (B)

Oslo – Stockholm
First Class: Haymarket by Scandic or similar accommodations
Today, head for Stockholm, passing through Norwegian forests. Cross the border and enter the county of Varmland in Sweden. Throughout the balance of the day, enjoy the drive through typical Swedish landscapes with fertile farmland, blue lakes, and thick forests. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Stockholm. (B)

Stockholm – the beauty on the water – is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful capitals in the world, built on 14 islands and protected from the sea by Skargarden, the Stockholm archipelago. Your morning sightseeing tour takes you to the old town with the royal palace, the Stockholm Cathedral and the city center with its famous city hall. The afternoon is at leisure. (B)

Stockholm – Return
