The Casino building is a sight in itself, and the experience inside is exactly what one would expect from a high-class gambling establishment. Roulette, Black Jack and other card games along with jackpot machines are just some activities to choose from.

At Deauville’s 1400 metre-long beach many choose to rent one of the colourful parasols and keep to the sands, where celebrity spotting is the most popular activity. The beach has all the amenities and facilities you could want: seaside tennis, recreation clubs for children and teens, a swimming pool, thalasso spa and a water sports centre where you can rent boats and boards.

The regular thoroughbred horse races at this posh national racetrack are attended by the cream of the racing elite. Races are held throughout the entire year. The course also contains two polo pitches where top international teams come to play during the summer.

The Hippodrome Deauville-Clairefontaine is the less pretentious of the two racetracks. This racetrack hosts a greater variety of races during the summer.

Go on a pony or horseback ride right on the beach. Riding lessons are available from the age of four, and even the two year olds can enjoy a handheld walk on a pony.

Les Terrasses du Mini Golf is an 18-hole mini-golf course that is located just a few steps away from the beach and offers entertainment for the whole family.

Full of old world charm, this picturesque Anglo-Norman mansion was the residence for many visiting international dignitaries. You can view the interior’s luxury furnishings during guided tours in July and August.

Brok Café is a Cuban-style establishment where the party is alive and kicking well before midnight. Rum-based drinks are to be expected, naturally.

Casino de Deauville is a Louis XVI-style casino full of big spenders with lots of money to lose. This is a great place to hobnob with the well-to-do. Remember there is an entry fee and that jackets are required for gentlemen.

At the Barrière Hotel, Le Bar du Normandy is a great place to enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, but most visitors come here to try one of the bartender’s excellent cocktails.

Le Chic is a nightlife venue where French celebrities are rumored to be spotted. Like the name suggests, it is an upscale establishment with dress code.

At Le Point Bar you and your friends can enjoy a cocktail at the bar or dance to the music. If you feel like playing games, you can find both pool and table-football at this venue.

Le Seven is a nightclub with a psychedelic décor. In this smoky late-night disco you can listen and dance to popular DJ's. Occasionally there are music and dance events here.

1920 seaside boardwalk featuring bathing cabins, a swimming pool, dance areas, bars, and a restaurant. The club is located right on the beach. This young and funky indoor/outdoor club is one of the most unique nightspots you will ever visit. They run their own shuttle bus service from Deauville centre.

This small cheese shop is a true hidden gem in the streets of Trouville-sur-Mer. There is a large variety of local and regional cheeses on offer and the owners of the shop will happily assist you with their extensive knowledge. The products are great value for money.

Les Accords Parfaits is a delicacy store spread over two levels with food on the ground floor and a wine cellar and spirits upstairs. You can find it on the market square in a gorgeous half-timbered building. The owner will gladly help you with personalised advice and information.

For haute couture and the latest clothing and accessories, make a beeline for the streets connecting Place de Casino with place Morny, where you will find several dozen small boutiques and shops. Prices will not be any cheaper than elsewhere, of course, but there are few more glamorous places to shop than Deauville and chances are you will be rubbing shoulders with some famous shopaholics.

Place Morny holds a farmers’ market every Tuesday and Friday, where rural French vendors sell homemade products like cheese, bread and wines.

On rue Eugène Colas you will find le Printemps, France’s most famous department store. It contains shops that aren't as high-end as those in the Place de Casino area, which makes shopping here more affordable.

The best time to relax in the sun and at Deauville's sandy beaches is between the months of June and August. Since early August boasts the warmest temperatures, this is also when most tourists visit Deauville. If you are looking to avoid crowds and higher prices, consider visiting in late spring or early autumn.

Deauville Normandie Airport is located 8 kilometres outside of Deauville centre. A service links Deauville and the airport which is the local bus service called BusVerts and the journey takes about 15 minutes. You take the bus number 20. When traveling from Deauville to the airport you can buy tickets on the bus or at the BusVerts office at the Deauville rail station. Another way to travel from the airport to the centre of Deauville is by Shuttle Service if you arrival with Ryanair or Flybe. Capacity 8 persons.

Deauville is a small town so you can easily get around by walking. If you are a tourist there is a small tourist train which departs the town hall for trips around town. Bicycles, roller skates and scooters can easily be rented at Cycle Lucas, 92 Avenue de la République. Deauville is connected to nearby Trouville by two bus services and a small ferry (summer only). It only takes about 15 minutes to walk.
