Kigali – Arrival

Superior Class: Kigali Serena Lodge or similar accommodations

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be met by a local representative at the airport for a briefing on your trip and an introduction to your safari driver/guide. You will then be transferred to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure.

Kigali – Rwanda Volcanoes National Park

Superior Class: The Bishops House Rwanda or similar accommodations

Begin your day with a city tour of Kigali including the heart wrenching Genocide Memorial. Continue your exploration to see new developments in Rwanda, showcasing humankind’s amazing resilience. Leave the city and head northwest through the terraced hillsides until you arrive at Volcanoes National Park. (B,L,D)

Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda Volcanoes National Park

Superior Class: The Bishops House Rwanda or similar accommodations

Embark on your search for the elusive Rwandan mountain gorilla. Depending on the movements of the gorillas, your trek may take anywhere from two to six hours. Your guide will take frequent breaks along the journey for you to rest and take photographs. Return to the lodge for lunch and to reflect on your experience. (B,L,D)

Explore Rwanda Volcanoes National Park

Today is yours to relax at the lodge or consider an optional second gorilla trek up the mountain. Alternatively, you may want to set out in search of the endangered golden monkey. (B,L,D)

Rwanda Volcanoes National Park – Kigali

Enjoy a final Rwandan breakfast before departing through the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes. Drive south past coffee, tea and banana plantations on a breathtakingly scenic drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
