Day

1

La Paz - Arrival

Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel in La Paz.

2

La Paz and Tiahuanaco

In the morning visit the Tiahuanaco ruins located 45 miles from La Paz. Visit the Kalasasaya temple, the monoliths Ponce and Fraile, the Akapana Pyramid, and the two local museums. Upon your return in La Paz you will visit the street markets, and the colonial city center. (B)

Lake Titicaca - Sun Island

You will be transferred from La Paz to Copacabana by bus and upon arrival you will take the boat to the Island of the Sun. You will visit the Pilkokaina ruins and have a traditional style lunch before hiking for about one hour to overnight at the La Estancia eco lodge. (B,L,D)

Sun Island - La Paz

You will sail to the Chincana to see beautiful Inca ruins. Continue by boat to the Island of the Moon, visit the ruins of Iñak Uyu and then to Copacabana to visit the Black Virgin. Stroll through the city and depart for La Paz and overnight. (B,L)

Colchani and Uyuni Salt Lake

You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Uyuni. Start your trip on the shores of Uyuni Salt Lake. Continue to the Inkawasi Island, famous for its giant cactus and volcanic rocks. After a picnic lunch you will visit the mummies of Coquesa and return to your hotel in Colchani for overnight. (B,L,D)

Colchani - Potosi

You will depart in the morning by 4-wheel drive vehicles for Potosi, passing through remote villages of the Andes Range. Potosi is a well-preserved mining town established during the Spanish colonial rule in 1544 to extract silver ore. You will visit the Mint House and see the traditional colonial streets and the artisan market. Return to Potosi for overnight. (B,L)

Potosi - Sucre

This morning you will visit a mine in Cerro Rico thousands of feet underground. After lunch catch the bus to Sucre through the highlands and reach valleys around the Pilcomayo River. Upon arrival to Sucre you will be transferred to your hotel. (B,L)

8

Sucre - La Paz

Morning tour of Sucre including a visit to la Casa de la Libertad’s Façade, Bolivar Park, and the church and museum of La Recoleta. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to La Paz. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. (B)

9

La Paz - Return

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
