Amazon Short Cruise Peru

Upon arrival, make your own way to the Costa del Sol Wyndham Hotel in the Lima airport.

After breakfast, board your flight to Iquitos (not included). Upon arrival (around 12 pm), you will be met and transferred by bus to the Nauta port to board your river cruise. The newly refurbished Delfin I, awaits you there to start your journey to the remote Pacaya Samiria Reserve, a flooded forest roughly the size of a small Central American country. This afternoon, join a happy hour orientation and a Pauhuachiro excursion. (D)

Enjoy bird watching before breakfast followed by a hike through the rainforest of San Isidro. This pristine ecosystem is one of the biologically richest habitats on Earth. After lunch, explore the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and board excursion boats. Here, you will have the opportunity to maneuver deep into the rainforest and view the amazing diversity of flora and fauna. (B,L,D)

After breakfast, join one of the longest canopy walks over the treetops of the rainforest. Return by canoe over the Tawampa Lake where you might see the giant arapaima. Cruise among a variety of fish including 25 different species of piranhas such as black, white, and red bellied. (B,L,D)

You will wake up in the birthplace of the Amazon where the rivers Ucayali and Maranon once united. Here, you will see the very rare pink river dolphins. Visit the village of San Francisco, and be welcomed by many children who lead us to their school to show us their arts and crafts. After disembarkation in the afternoon, you will be transferred to Iquitos Airport for your flight to Lima (after 5 pm, the flight is not included). (B,L)
