Explore Lima's modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores as well as its historic city center including Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, and City Hall. Your next stop is in Cusco where you will step back in time and explore the Ancient Incan Empire. Enjoy a scenic train ride through the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu where you will travel the steep roads to the entrance of the citadel. Take a bus from Cusco to Puno and explore Lake Titicaca with a boat ride and visits to surrounding indigenous communities.

Lima – Arrival

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Explore Lima

Join a morning sightseeing tour, which explores Lima's modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, as well as its historic center including Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral. and the Convent of Santo Domingo. Stop at Parque del Amor offering magnificent views over the Pacific Ocean. The afternoon is at leisure. (B)

Lima – Cusco

Early in the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco (not included). Upon arrival (by 7 am), you will be met for a tour to the most outstanding archaeological sites in and around the city of Cusco. Start at Sacsayhuaman, an Inca site famous for its enormous stone walls and its view of the city of Cusco. Continue to Puca-Pucara, which may have been a "tambo" or rest and lodging place for the Inca. Next, visit the ruins of Tambomachay, which had an important religious function during the Inca Empire. Finally, proceed to Kenko, where the sun, moon, and stars were worshipped. (B)

Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco

A small coach will take you to the Ollanta train station to start your 1.5-hour train journey through the Sacred Valley to the legendary ancient citadel of Machu Picchu. On arrival, a small coach will take you up the steep roads to the entrance of the citadel. Visit one of the great wonders of the world. It will be an unforgettable experience. A professional guide will tell you about the history of this mysterious and charming place. After some free time to explore the area on your own, descent to Aguas Calientes and board the train for your return journey to Cusco. (B)

Cusco – Sacred Valley – Cusco

Today, join a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. Start your day with a visit to Chinchero, a small picturesque Andean village. Enter the home of a textile artisan, where you will see some of his original work and learn about his techniques, as well as his creative process. Then, visit Chinchero's significant Inca ruins dating from the end of the 15th century, as well as a beautiful traditional church. Continue to Ollantaytambo. En route, stop at the Racchi viewpoint, for one of the best views of the Sacred Valley. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, proceed to Ollantaytambo, one of the most representative building complexes of the Inca Empire and the site of one of the Spanish Conquistadors' rare strategic defeats. Famous for its terraced fields, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress and also a religious center. Finally, you will stop at the village of Ollantaytambo, known as "the only living Inca town". It is the best surviving example of Inca urban planning, with stone-paved streets that have been inhabited since the 12th century. (B,L)

Cusco – Puno

Today, a 10-hour bus trip takes you through picturesque Andean landscapes dotted by small villages and herds of llamas and vicunas to Puno. In Andahuaylillas, you will visit the famous church built in the 17th century by the Jesuits. Stop in Raqchi and visit the Wiracocha Temple known for its cylindrical columns covered by fine clay layers. After the visit, enjoy a buffet lunch with typical dishes of the region at a local restaurant. Arrive in Puno in the afternoon. (B,L)

Puno – Lake Titicaca – Puno

Today, take a boat trip and visit the floating reed islands of the Uros Indians followed by Taquile Island. Here, the indigenous community has conserved centuries of customs, such as a communitarian way of life in which everything is shared. The backdrop of the snow-capped Cordillera Real completes a splendid picture. Enjoy a boxed lunch during your excursion. (B,L)
