Highlights of Slovenia

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore. This evening, meet your fellow travelers for a welcome orientation and drink. 

Join your morning sightseeing tour of Ljubljana before traveling to the Karst region. Your first stop will be at the Postojna Cave, one of the largest in Europe. Explore this unique subterranean world on a miniature electric train before proceeding to a nearby wine producer. Here you will enjoy a Teran wine and prosciutto tasting, followed by a drive to Piran on the Slovenian coast. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B) 

Spend the morning on a guided tour of Piran before heading to the popular tourist resort of Portoroz. Next, drive through the hilly region of Goriska Brda to discover the charming town of Smartno where you will enjoy a delicious dinner at a local farm. After dinner, head to Nova Gorica to check-in to your hotel. (B,D)

Drive along the emerald green Soca River through Kobarid, featured in Hemmingway’s A Farewell to Arms, with a stop at the WWI Museum. Later, continue to Bled, stopping at Boka Waterfall for spectacular views. Upon arrival in Bled, check-in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B) 

Your morning sightseeing tour will introduce to you the highlights of this charming town on the shores of Lake Bled. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the imposing Bled Castle, perched high on a cliff above the lake, before visiting a local café to sample the famous Bled cream cake. In the afternoon, travel to Skofja Loka, a beautiful medieval town with a castle that rises above the confluence of the two Sora Rivers, Poljanska Sora and Selska Sora. After your tour, visit the Nace homestead to sample some of the local products. (B) 

Today you will travel the other Alpine beauty, Lake Bohinj, for a relaxing walk along the lakeshore. Here you will take a cable car to Mt. Vogel to admire the stunning Julian Alps. Before returning to Bled, you will visit the Shepherd’s Museum and taste some of the best Slovenian cheeses. Tonight, celebrate this wonderfully scenic journey with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D) 

After a final Slovenian breakfast, return to Ljubljana where you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
