Itinerary

Day
1

Day 1: Departure — Mahé and the Marine Park

Board Aqua Lares at L'Escale Marina on Mahé and settle into your design suite as the Cruise Director and Naturalist Guides welcome you aboard for the length of this extended voyage. As the ship eases past the coral gardens of Sainte Anne National Marine Park, the archipelago's granite peaks recede behind you — the first stretch of a journey that will carry guests from the Seychelles' outer reaches back through its inner islands over two full weeks at sea.

Day
2

Day 2: First Depths — D'Arros Island

D'Arros sets the tone early: a privately managed coral cay in the Amirantes Group, safeguarded by the Save Our Seas Foundation, where conservation has produced startlingly rich waters. Morning dives or snorkels at St Joseph Channel drift among sharks, rays, and turtles, while the afternoon's excursion to Turtle Town adds another layer of encounters. Dinner on board tonight comes with the satisfaction of a strong opening chapter, as the ship continues its long push south.

Day
3

Day 3: The Open Water — A Day at Sea

A full day at sea allows the voyage to settle into its rhythm ahead of Aldabra. Spend the hours at the spa, in the jacuzzi, or scanning for red-footed boobies working the swells for flying fish. Naturalist presentations trace the geological forces and ecological patterns that shape this remote stretch of the Indian Ocean, while dinner and stargazing from the Sun Deck close out a day built for unhurried recovery.

Day
4

Day 4: The Wall — Astove Island

Astove's underwater signature is the Astove Wall, a four-mile expanse of soft coral plunging into depths with visibility reaching 40 meters — often likened to an underwater canyon. Sharks, rays, and reef fish move through its currents in numbers that make this one of the most talked-about dive sites in the Indian Ocean, a genuine highlight for anyone aboard with a wetsuit and a sense of adventure.

Day
5

Day 5: Ancient Ground — Aldabra Atoll

Aldabra holds one of the planet's most isolated ecosystems, and its most famous residents: more than 100,000 giant tortoises spread across four islands, the largest such population anywhere on Earth. Visit the Aldabra Research Station and the atoll's old settlement in the morning before an afternoon snorkel or dive off the west side, where tropical fish, sharks, and turtles share the water — with the occasional manta ray gliding through for good measure.

Day
6

Day 6: Seabird Sanctuary — Cosmoledo Atoll

A guided tender excursion opens the day, tracing Cosmoledo's lagoon in search of masked gannets and brown boobies — species found nowhere else in Seychelles waters. Below the surface, the atoll's protected reefs offer some of the most undisturbed diving and snorkeling of the entire voyage, a fitting complement to the birdlife above.

Day
7

Day 7: Unmapped Waters — Providence Atoll

Providence's azure lagoon and surrounding reef remain largely unexplored by recreational divers, offering guests a rare shot at coral formations few have ever seen. Red-footed boobies circle overhead as snorkelers and divers move through waters that feel, in every sense, genuinely undiscovered.

Day
8

Day 8: Coconut Groves and Mangroves — Saint-François Atoll

Morning tenders carry guests into the Alphonse group, where a dense coconut forest meets hard coral gardens just offshore. After lunch, the focus shifts to Saint-François itself, where mangrove channels hide juvenile sharks, crabs, and crab plovers, while the surrounding lagoon and barrier reef offer paddleboarding, kayaking, diving, and snorkeling in equal measure.

Day
9

Day 9: The Southern Finale — Desroches Island

Desroches closes the outer-islands leg with underwater terrain unlike anywhere else on the route — tunnels, sinkholes, and the well-known Desroches Drop draw divers into a seascape rich with hawksbill and green turtles, sharks, and reef fish. On land, white sand beaches and the presence of the Four Seasons Desroches add a touch of polish, while kayaking and paddleboarding offer a gentler way to take in the reef from above.

Day
10

Day 10: Changing Tides — Mahé & Beau Vallon Bay

The ship returns to Mahé to resupply, and the day belongs to rest: an outdoor workout, a spa treatment, or simply time in the jacuzzi. By afternoon, a new group of guests joins the voyage for its second half, and Aqua Lares readies itself for a shift in scenery — from remote outer atolls to the granite-studded inner islands ahead.

Day
11

Day 11: Granite and Coral — Silhouette & North Island

Silhouette Island introduces the inner islands in dramatic fashion, its marine park framed by towering granite formations. The dive site at Grande Barbe drops through cascading boulders and overhangs beneath the surface, a striking contrast to the atoll diving of the past week. After lunch, North Island's private waters at Sprat City offer calmer, equally rewarding diving and snorkeling.

Day
12

Day 12: Sharks and Solitude — Grande Soeur & Marianne

Grande Soeur delivers some of the best deep-water shark diving in the region, along with snorkeling and paddleboarding among parrotfish and sea turtles along its granite coast. In the afternoon, tiny Marianne Island — barely a square kilometer — punches well above its size with grey reef sharks and pelagic fish patrolling South Marianne's waters. Sundowners on the Sun Deck close the day as the ship sails on toward La Digue.

Day
13

Day 13: Timeless Shores — La Digue & Curieuse

An early dive or paddleboard excursion opens the day before arrival at La Digue, an island where granite boulders and quiet tradition have resisted the passage of time. Kayak or snorkel along its coastline before continuing after lunch to Curieuse Island, part of a protected marine park where a healthy reef system supports an abundance of underwater life.

Day
14

Day 14: Palms and Preservation — Praslin & Cousin Island

Praslin's Vallée de Mai — an ancient palm forest home to the rare coco de mer — offers a morning of hiking through one of the Seychelles' most storied landscapes. In the afternoon, local boats carry guests to Cousin Island, a Special Nature Reserve where Seychelles warblers and moorhens share the island with hawksbill turtles and giant tortoises. A final snorkeling excursion offshore rounds out two weeks of near-constant marine discovery.

Day
15

Day 15: Journey's End — Return to Mahé

A last breakfast on board offers a quiet moment to take stock of the distance covered — from D'Arros' protected shallows to Aldabra's tortoise-covered shores, and finally through the granite-framed inner islands. Aqua Lares returns to L'Escale Marina on Mahé, closing an extraordinary two-week passage through nearly the entire breadth of the Seychelles archipelago.
