Daily Itinerary

Day

1

Manaus - Arrival

Upon arrival in Manaus, you will be met and transferred to the port where you will board your regional boat to the small village of Careiro. Switch from a boat to a van, which will take you to the Araca River launch to board your speedboat to the Amazon Lodge. Upon arrival, settle into your room and enjoy dinner at the lodge before joining a caiman spotting tour. (B)

Discover the Amazon – Manaus

Depart early in the morning in motorized canoes to admire the Amazonian sunrise. Experience the morning sounds of the jungle as the sun rises over the treetops and thousands of birds leave their nests. Return to the lodge for breakfastfollowed by a motorized canoe tour around Juma River to spot wildlife such as monkeys, dolphins, sloths, exotic birds and more. Return to the lodge for lunch followed by a fishing trip and dinner. (B,L,D)

Discover the Amazon – Manaus

This morning, take a motorized canoe to an entry point into the rainforest. Your guide will take you for a walk, explaining everything they know about the local flora and fauna, including some medicinal plants used by the endemic people to cure diseases. Return to the lodge for lunch and then take a motorized canoe to visit a local family of indigenous caboclo people to see how they live and survive in the harsh rainforest. The family will show you their plantations and how to prepare local meals, including the important manioc. (B,L,D)

Manaus – Rio de Janeiro

Take the return journey to Manaus where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro (ticket not included). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B)

Discover Rio

This morning, leave your hotel to visit one of the most iconic sites in all Brazil, the famed Christ the Redeemer Statue. Situated high above sea level on top of Corcovado Hill, you will take a funicular up the mountainside for unbeatable views of the city and the bay. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to explore exciting Rio. (B)

Explore Rio

Today is yours at leisure to explore at your own pace. We recommend an optional tour of Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. Your guide will meet you at your hotel for a drive in open-sided jeeps through the stunning Tijuca Atlantic Forest. Your first stop will be at the Chinese Vista for magnificent views of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, Guanabara Bay and Sugar Loaf Mountain. During your tour, you may be able to spot different tropical animals such as monkeys and sloths. (B)

Rio – Iguassu Falls

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguassu (ticket not included). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in before commencing your tour of the Brazilian Iguassu Falls. En route to the magnificent falls, you will drive through lush, subtropical vegetation and delightful scenery. Walk the many trails to the various platforms overlooking the 240 falls that make up the mighty Iguassu. (B)

Discover Argentinian Iguassu

This morning you will cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge, with lovely views of the Iguassu Canyon, en route to the Iguassu National Park in Argentina. Upon arrival, take the ecological train to reach the Devil’s Throat station. Walk to the highest point of the falls and enjoy the unique views of the Cataratas. The highlight of your trip is a visit to the suspended platform at the very bring of the Devil’s Throat, the largest of the Iguassu Falls. (B)

Iguassu Falls – Return

Enjoy a final Brazilian breakfast before being transferred to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
