Kalahari Desert Adventure

The Kalahari Desert Adventure package includes accommodations at a Superior First Class Desert Lodge, domestic flights from Maun to the Kalahari Plains and back, daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), daily game drives, guided Bushman walks, select alcoholic drinks, and Keytours 24-hour emergency assistance. International flights and personal expenses are not included.

Travelers on this itinerary will fly between Maun and the Kalahari Plains. Domestic air tickets for these flights are included in the package. Upon arrival at the Kalahari Plains airstrip, guests will be met by a lodge representative and transferred to the camp via a shared transfer.

During the Kalahari Desert Adventure, travelers can observe a variety of wildlife including large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and brown hyenas, as well as springbok, gemsbok (oryx), black-backed jackals, bat-eared foxes, wildebeest, and eland. Game drives are conducted in open 4WD vehicles for optimal viewing.

The Kalahari Desert Adventure offers some customization options. Travelers can discuss specific preferences, such as additional nights or tailored experiences, with a Keytours travel consultant. However, the core elements like accommodations, domestic flights, and game drives are fixed components of the itinerary.

This itinerary involves moderate physical activity, primarily through guided game drives and optional Bushman walks. Guests aged 75 years and over who wish to participate in game walks must provide a medical certificate regarding their fitness level. The final decision on walks is at the discretion of the guide.

The Kalahari Desert Adventure is suitable for families, particularly those interested in wildlife and cultural experiences. However, families should consider the remote location and the nature of safari activities, which may not be suitable for very young children.
