Lewa Conservancy - Masai Mara Game Reserve

Partake in an alfresco bush breakfast in the middle of the plains, surrounded by wildlife, on one of your days at Lewa. After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Masai Mara. Upon arrival, transfer to the camp with a game drive en-route, then check-in followed by lunch. After lunch, continue to a shared game drive. Masai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries, punctuated by marshes and forests. Certainly the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, this 650 sq kilometer reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere. During seasonal migrations, Masai Mara houses up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebras that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The reserve is home to all of the Big 5 and also features baboons, elands, ostriches, bat-eared foxes, jackals, and cheetahs; the rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles. Overnight in camp. (B,L,D)

Day

7

Masai Mara Game Reserve

Luxury Class: Cottar's Safaris or similar accommodations

After a wake-up call and coffee/tea, set out for an early morning game drive in the reserve. This is usually the most popular game viewing time. During the early hours, temperatures are low, thus providing a favorable atmosphere for both the game and the viewer. Lions, cheetahs, and leopards roam the vast grasslands in search of their next meal, be it an unsuspecting impala or even a small bite like the warthog. Whatever the players, the spectacle of nature unfolding is always awe-inspiring! Return to the lodge for breakfast. Mid-morning at leisure followed by lunch at the lodge and an afternoon game drive. You will also have a chance to visit a Maasai Cultural Village to learn more about the Maasai people and their way of life. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

Or, you may choose to relax in the unique open-air canvas bush baths. Set on Persian rugs outside of your tent, you can enjoy the incredible view of the Masai Mara from a bubble bath while sipping the drink of your choice - and you may even see some wildlife wander by! Dinner and overnight in the camp. (B,L,D)
