Begin your journey in Oslo as you experience the quiet beauty of Norway's fjord region. Explore Oslo, the nation's capital. Travel along the Flam Railway as you take in the mountainous surroundings on your way to Flam. You will not just see nature, but experience it as you hike to Stegastein viewpoint in Aurland. Head to Burgen by boat through Norway's narrowest fjord and by train from Voss. Visit some of Bergen’s many attractions, such as the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbor, the Fløibanen Funicular, which takes you up to a height of 1,050 feet above sea level, Grieg’s home Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower Market, or the Bergen Aquarium.

Oslo – Arrival

First Class: Clarion Hotel the Hub or similar accommodations

Upon arrival in Oslo, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Oslo at Leisure

First Class: Clarion Hotel the Hub or similar accommodations

After breakfast, discover Oslo on your own. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Oslo offers many well-known sights such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, Aker Brygge, the Viking Ship Museum, the Kontiki Museum, and the Munch Museum. (B)

Oslo – Flåm

First Class: Flamsbrygga Hotell or similar accommodations

After breakfast, experience Norway’s most popular journey - Norway in a Nutshell. The excursion takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Norway's fjord region. You will travel by train across the Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau and down the Flåm Railway. The Flåm Railway will take you through wild and beautiful mountain scenery and down to the Sognefjord. There is no other adhesion railway in the world running on normal tracks that are so steep over such a long distance. Upon arrival in Flåm, you have time to walk around this quaint little village. In the evening, go on a guided cultural walk with dinner and beer tasting. Dinner includes smoked reindeer, shellfish, fish and shellfish soup, pork shank, and dark chocolate ganache cake. You will be served 5 beers for your meal, one for each type of food. (B,D)

Flåm – Hiking

First Class: Flamsbrygga Hotell or similar accommodations

After breakfast, go on a hike in the local mountains up to the Stegastein viewpoint in Aurland. Enjoy the amazing views and experience hiking in traditional snowshoes. You will be served hot beverages while your guide tells you all about the culture, history, and way of life in this unique place. (B)

Flåm – Bergen

First Class: Zander K Hotel or similar accommodations

From Flåm, continue by boat on the Nærøyfjord, Europe’s narrowest fjord, to Gudvangen. From here, you will travel by coach to Voss where you will board a train for the last stretch of the journey to Bergen. Arrive in Bergen, Norway’s second largest city. (B)

Bergen at Leisure

First Class: Zander K Hotel or similar accommodations

After breakfast, discover Bergen on your own. We recommend a visit to some of Bergen’s many attractions, such as the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbor, the Fløibanen Funicular, which takes you up to a height of 1,050 feet above sea level, Grieg’s home Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower Market, or the Bergen Aquarium. Use this day to get to know the city and all it has to offer. (B)

Bergen – Oslo

After breakfast, depart Bergen by train. The trip from Bergen to Oslo is considered one of the finest train journeys in the world. The railway connects Norway`s two largest cities and presents the variety of Norwegian scenery. Bergen is the only city in the world that is surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords. (B)
