Western Canyon Self Drive Explorer

Upon arrival in Scottsdale, pick up your rental car and drive to your hotel for check-in. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing with a stroll through historic Old Town.

Depart Scottsdale this morning and head into the desert along one of the country’s most beautiful drives on your way to Sedona.

Get an early start and drive from Sedona to Oak Creek Canyon. From Sedona, you’ll go from iconic red rock buttes into picturesque forests which become increasingly populated with impressive ponderosa pines as you ascend the canyon. Continue through dramatic switchbacks until you reach the scenic outlooks with breathtaking views of jagged cliffs, thick ponderosas, and the crystal-clear waters of Oak Creek. Take some time to explore the canyon, or continue on to the Grand Canyon to check in to your hotel and prepare for your next adventure.

One of the world’s greatest natural wonders awaits you. Rise early to see one of nature’s most spectacular sunrises. You may want to take a helicopter tour for thrilling views of the canyon, take a bike tour along the rim, or descend into the canyon for a rafting adventure on the Colorado River.

Leave the Grand Canyon this morning and head to another iconic American landmark, Monument Valley. Located on the Navajo Nation, this majestic landscape features fragile pinnacles of sandstone towers surrounded by miles of mesas, buttes, and rich red hues of desert scenery. After your visit, head into Utah to Lake Powell where placid blue waters are framed by dramatic amber peaks.

Spend your day relaxing and recharging upon the sparkling waters of Lake Powell. Take a boat tour of the lake, enjoy a half-day rafting excursion on Horseshoe Bend, or kick back under the sun with a day of fishing. You may want to finish off your day with a sunset dinner cruise.

Set out for Zion National Park this morning. Upon arrival, you may want to stretch your legs with a hike along the park’s famous hiking trails or trot through pine forests and red rock views with a horseback ride.

You may want to do some more hiking at Zion or enjoy a scenic drive along Zion Canyon National Scenic Drive. In the afternoon, take the final leg of your journey through beautiful desert scenery to arrive in Las Vegas. This evening, celebrate your trip with an indulgent dinner or tickets to one of Las Vegas’ famous shows.

Check out of your hotel and head to the airport to return your rental car and board your flight.
