Amazon Lodge: Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica or similar accommodations

Upon arrival, embark on a 45-minute canoe ride along the Madre de Dios River to the Reserva Amazonica Lodge. Enjoy your lunch before walking along the trail system into the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica natural area where you will discover the Amazon Basin. These trails offers an excellent introduction to the forest environment. In the evening, board a boat to see the magical river at twilight filled with colorful beauty and wildlife. (L,D)

Amazon Lodge: Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica or similar accommodations

Trek through the Tambopata National Reserve to Lake Sandoval. This lake is home to giant river otters, howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, turtles, and black caimans. After lunch, explore the jungle from the platforms, 100 feet above the ground. Watch for bright toucans, trogons, and monkeys. (B,L,D)

Amazon Lodge: Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica or similar accommodations

Enjoy a trip to Gamitana Creek, located 25 minutes by boat from the lodge. For 1.5 hours explore the rainforest along the banks of a winding, dark-water creek that is home to many piranha, caiman, turtles, and birds. Return to Gamitana Farm for a short guided tour to see how local farmers grow fruits and vegetables. After lunch, join the Hacienda Concepcion excursion, see over 200 different plant species and learn about the uses and benefits of the local flora. At night, get ready for an adventure exploring the nocturnal rainforest and its emerging animals. (B,L,D)
