Otavalo Market

Deluxe Hotels: Hacienda Zuleta or similar accommodations

For hundreds of years, Otavalo has hosted one of the most important markets in the Andes, a weekly fiesta that celebrates the gods of commerce. Vendors hawk a dizzying array of handmade, traditional crafts as well as an ever-increasing number of slyly disguised imports. Here you can find a variety of textiles, woodcrafts, jewelry, antiques and more. After your private visit, head toward one of the most legendary farms in Otavalo for lunch. Return to the Hacienda for dinner. (B,L,D)

Explore the Hacienda

Deluxe Hotels: Hacienda Zuleta or similar accommodations

Today you can take advantage of the many different activities offered by the Hacienda. A large supporter of Zuleta’s milk production, the Hacienda invites you to visit the milking sheds to see the milking process, feed a baby calf, see giant bulls and talk to local cowboys. Alternatively, take the opportunity to ride through this magnificent landscape on horseback at the Hacienda’s stables. With horses for every riding level and safety gear, you can feel like a proper caballero while exploring picturesque and serene riding trails. (B,L,D)

Otavalo - Quito - Return

You’ll have some time this morning to relax and enjoy the Hacienda’s facilities one last time. After lunch, meet your driver for a private transfer back to Quito. En route, you will stop for a visit to the Condor Huasi Project, working to rehabilitate the majestic Andean Condor numbers. Upon arrival in Quito, check-in to your hotel or take your private transfer to the train station or airport to continue to your next destination. (B,L)
