Reykholt is most famous for being the medieval Viking manor home of Iceland's best-known author and chieftain, Snorri Sturluson. From there, head to Hraunfossar waterfalls, or Lava Falls, where clear, cold springs of subterranean water seep through the lava and ripple down as tiny waterfalls and rapids into the Hvita River. A series of scenic footpaths takes you to different viewpoints around the waterfalls.Next, head to Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring and Krauma Geothermal Baths. Krauma offers five relaxing natural geothermal baths, a cold tub to get your blood circulation going, two calming saunas and a relaxation room where you can rest by the fireplace while listening to soothing music.
