1

Rio de Janeiro – Arrival

First Class: Windsor Excelsior Copacabana or similar accommodations

Superior First Class: Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana or similar accommodations

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore this exciting city.

Explore Rio de Janeiro

Superior First Class: Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana or similar accommodations

In the morning, depart on a half-day tour of Corcovado Mountain and visit one of the world’s most famous landmarks, the gigantic statue of Christ the Redeemer. Take a cogwheel train through the dense Atlantic rain forest of Tijuca. Get up-close to Christ the Redeemer and spend some time enjoying a panoramic view of Rio from the incredible mountain-top vantage point. On the way back to your hotel, pass by Rio's world-famous sambodromo and enjoy a panoramic view of the Maracanã stadium. (B)

Rio de Janeiro – Manaus – Embark Cruise

Cruise Line: Iberostar Grand Amazon or similar cruises

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Rio airport for your flight to Manaus (not included). Upon arrival, you will be met at airport and transferred to the port. Embarkation starts at 3 pm. Watch the sunset from the upper deck as you begin your journey along the Amazon. Tonight enjoy a captain’s welcome cocktail followed by dinner. (B,D)

Amazon Cruise – Jaraqui Igarapes

Cruise Line: Iberostar Grand Amazon or similar cruises

After breakfast, join a hike in the Jaraqui region where you will find many palm trees and tall trees used for house construction and as medicine by local villagers. In the afternoon journey through the islands of the Tres Bocas region and enjoy the local flora. The vegetation of the islands is reflected in the dark waters producing a surreal and charming environment. After dinner, take a night ride for a chance to spot alligators and listen to the sounds of the region. Amazon Cruise – Cuieiras River

Cruise Line: Iberostar Grand Amazon or similar cruises

After breakfast, join a hike or enjoy a boat ride. Visit the pink dolphins in Novo Airao before returning to the ship. In the afternoon, visit an indigenous community in the Cuieiras River and learn about their way of life, customs and culture. You will have the opportunity to purchase local crafts. (B,L,D)

Amazon Cruise – Ariau River

Cruise Line: Iberostar Grand Amazon or similar cruises

Early in the morning, enjoy a boat ride in the Ariau River region where you can watch birds and see a beautiful landscape lit by the sunrise. You have the option to go piranha fishing or join a boat ride through the Igarapes (narrow streams) and lakes of the region. The waters here are clear and the fauna is rich. You will be able to see monkeys, sloths and birds. In the afternoon enjoy a boat ride in the Tupe region. (B,L,D)

Disemark Cruise – Manaus – Return

Arise early to see the fascinating phenomenon of the “Meeting of the Waters”, the point where the Negro and Solimoes Rivers merge, at sunrise, before disembarking at the port of Manaus at 8 am. You will be transferred to the airport for your next destination. (B)
