Santas Finland Escape

Upon arrival in Rovaniemi, you will be transferred from the airport to the Santa Claus Holiday Village, your home for the next four nights. (D)

Enjoy your morning at leisure to explore Santa’s Village before departing on your afternoon wilderness safari on your very own e-snowmobile – the first of its kind in the world! Your guide will lead you to a hunting cabin in the middle of the forest after an exhilerating ride through the Finnish Lapland’s frozen landscape. You’ll have the opportunity to warm yourself by the fire and enjoy warm beverages and light refreshments before mounting your snowmobile for the ride back by the setting sun. (B,D)

Today you will have a full day at your leisure to explore the Village or consider an optional dog sledding experience. Following a short drive, you’ll arrive at the husky farm where friendly and energetic dogs will greet you with an enthusiastic wag of their tails. Before heading out on your sled, you will receive safety and driving instructions for a successful ride. Feel the icy wind whip your cheeks as your skilled canine fleet races through the wintery landscape. Once you return to the farm, you can enjoy some hot berry juice by an open fire and chat with the head musher about these amazing animals. Today you may wish to consider another optional excursion to get to know Finnish Lapland’s most famous of inhabitant – the reindeer! Take a reindeer pulled sled through Santa’s terrain for a true North Pole experience. Tonight, you may wish to consider an optional Aurora Borealis Adventure. Your guide will drive you to the middle of nowhere, with no pollution from city lights, for the best chance to spot the elusive Northern Lights. While enjoying the peace of nature, savor fried sausages surrounded by the great aroma of the crackling fire. En route back to Santa’s Village, you’ll stop by the cozy, old Poro-Pekan Pirtti whose hosts will welcome you and show you around their dwelling – like something from a bygone era.
