Upon arrival in San Jose, you will be met by your driver/guide for your private transfer to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure. We recommend a walk downtown to experience San Jose’s endless nightlife.

You will be picked up from your hotel after an early breakfast this morning for your journey to Tortuguero. Along the way, you can admire the astonishing biodiversity of Costa Rica and the many crops produced in this region such as pineapples and bananas. You will arrive at the pier where you will board your boat to sail through the exotic paradise of the Tortuguero Canals. Upon arrival in Tortuguero, you will be greeted with a refreshing cocktail and a delicious lunch at your lodge. (B,L,D)

This morning you will leave the lodge on a boat tour of Tortuguero National Park, along with your naturalist guide, to experience the active morning hours of the rain forest. It’s common to spot native wildlife such as howler monkeys in search of their morning meal. This afternoon, you will visit the small town of Tortuguero for a chance to see what life is like in this rain forest community. (B,L,D)

Enjoy a final breakfast at you lodge before transferring back to the pier to meet your driver for your journey to Arenal. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and the remainder of the evening at your leisure in the shadow of the mighty Arenal Volcano. (B)

Begin your adventure with a transfer to the Lake Arenal dock where you will board a boat for a short, yet unimaginably scenic ride. Arriving at the “Peninsula” trail, take a moment to appreciate the spectacular views before embarking on your nature hike. Continue your hike down the “Coladas” trail until you come upon the surprisingly resilient lava flow habitat. Here you will see over 500 species of bird as well as deer, jaguars, peccaries and monkeys representing the incredible force of life returning to this devastated area. (B)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Monteverde by boat across Lake Arenal. Relax as the tropical scenery scrolls past on your way to Monteverde, a small region with marvelous forests and hidden secrets. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B)

Prepare for a day of adventure in Monteverde. During your tour, you will cross through the cloud forest on a series of zip lines, offering a thrilling adventure combined with unique views of the cloud forest. Between each section of zip line, you will walk along canopy walkways, one of which ends at the adrenaline pumping Tarzan Swing. This optional activity is exactly as it sounds – move through the cloud forest from rope to rope, just like Tarzan! Next, let your nerves settle with a peaceful walk through the canopy on along the treetop walkways to appreciate a wide variety of flora and fauna. Later, continue to the largest butterfly gardens in America. You will have close contact with the beautiful butterflies as well as more than 14 species of hummingbird. (B)

Bid farewell to rural Monteverde and take your private transfer to Tamarindo Beach in the Guanacaste province. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure. We recommend taking some time to explore the main village with a variety of restaurants and bars. (B)

After an action packed adventure in Monteverde, you may want to take this free day to relax on the beach and enjoy the tropical atmosphere. For a little fun in the sun mixed with the thrill of adventure, you may want to consider an optional surfing lesson. (B)

Enjoy a final Costa Rican breakfast before taking your private transfer to San Jose where you will be dropped off at the airport for your return flight home. (B)
