Calama – Arrival – San Pedro de Atacama

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred from Calama airport to your San Pedro de Atacama hotel (approx. 1hr 30mins) for dinner at your leisure. (B)

Discover San Pedro de Atacama

Today you will explore the Moon and Death Valleys, so called for the barren, desert landscapes. First, visit the Valle de la Muerte, or Death Valley, a mountainous and sandy region almost entirely void of life. The Moon Valley is well known for its amazing geological formations, giving the valley a moon-like appearance. End your tour by admiring a spectacular sunset from La Gran Duna in Moon Valley. (B)

Explore San Pedro de Atacama

Today is yours entirely to explore at your leisure or take an optional excursion. We recommend considering a visit to the Atacama Salt Bed and the Altiplanic Lagoons. The Salt Bed, considered one of the most important lithium reserves on the planet, is made up of rough surfaces and shallow lagoons. Spend some time driving through the unique landscape of the region, visiting lagoons, witnessing unique flora and fauna, and taking in the extreme beauty of the surrounding mountains. (B)

Discover Santiago

Santiago is a mixture of old and new and your tour through this immense city will introduce you to this unique characteristic. Your guide will take you through the Plaza de Armas, the main square of the city, to see the cathedral, post office and city hall while learning about the origins of the city. Your next stop is the civic neighborhood and the grounds of La Moneda Palace. Afterwards, you will drive through some of the old neighborhoods of Santiago such as Republica and Concha y Toro. Later, visit the eastern part of the city to see the modern side of life. (B)

Santiago - Easter Island

After breakfast, take some time at your leisure before being transferred to Santiago airport for your flight to Easter Island (ticket not included). Discover Easter Island

Today you will head toward Rano Kao Volcano for a look at the fascinating freshwater lake within a deep crater. Located at the top of the crater, you will find Orongo, the center for the annual Tangata Manu, or Bird Man, ceremony. There are over 100 petroglyphs representing the god Make Make, the Tangata Manu and the Manutara sea bird, among others. You will also have the chance to visit the Ana Kai Tangata caves, which contain several paintings from centuries past. Later, head to the ceremonial platform Ahu Vinapu, well known for its architectural perfection. Return to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B)

Explore Easter Island

You have a full day at your leisure to explore the island today. We recommend an optional tour of Akahanga and Anakena, starting with the ruins of Ahu Vaihu and Ahu Akahanga. During your exploration of the island, you will have ample opportunity to witness the iconic and monolithic Moai heads. (B)

Enjoy a final breakfast on the island before being transferred to the airport at the appropriate time for your flight to Santiago (ticket not included), and your return flight home. (B)
