You will board the MS Douce France at 5pm.  Once you've settled comfortably into your cabin, gather for a welcome cocktail and meet the friendly crew.  Following a delightful dinner on board, a special evening awaits dedicated to the cherished Alsatian holiday cookies, known as bredeles. As the night unfolds, the ship will gracefully cruise through the darkness.  Bon Voyage!

Romantic Rhine River- Rudesheim

We will embark on a scenic journey along the Rhine River, passing the iconic Lorelei rock formation. Our next destination is the charming village of Rudesheim, characterized by its narrow cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses.A tourist train will take us to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet, a remarkable display featuring 350 self-playing mechanical music instruments from the 18th to the 20th centuries, including delicate musical boxes and a grand piano-orchestrion. Afterward, you'll have the opportunity to explore the city's historical downtown area, where an international Christmas market awaits. Notably, the city boasts one of Europe's largest nativity scenes. Returning to the ship, a stroll down the Drosselgasse, adorned with numerous cafes and bars, will lead you back. After dinner on board, venture into the city once more to experience the exquisite Rudesheimer Kaffee, a speciality native to the region.

Rudesheim-Mainz-Gambsheim

We will embark on an early morning cruise towards Mainz.  Embark on a guided walking tour through the city and witness its meticulously restored landmarks. This immersive excursion includes and insider's exploration of the awe-inspiring Saint-Martin's Cathedral, a marvel dating back a millennium. Take a leisurely stroll that will lead through the quaint streets of the historic district to the Gutenberg Museum, a treasure trove housing two copies of the Gutenberg Bible, an iconic creation that marked the advent of movable type printing in the Western world. Following this, you'll have a chance to enjoy some personal time before returning to the ship. Don't miss the vibrant local Christmas market adajacent to the cathedral, framed by splendid Renaissance-style architecture. The market's larger-than-life carousel, surrounded by traditional chalets offering handicrafted treasures, keepsakes, and delectable treats, add to the festive atmosphere.Following the tour, a satisfying lunch awaits on board as you continue your afternoon cruise to Gambesheim. As evening falls, partake in the 'Grand Gala Celebration' as the ship will gracefully navigate the night waters, adding an enchanting touch to your festive experience.

Upon arrival in Gamsheim, embark on a coach journey to Wingen-sur-Moder, where you'll explore the Musee Lalique. His distinctive and instantly recognizable style wielded significant influence over the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. Be captivated by the remarkable collections, ensuring you don't overlook the special temporary exhibition designed exclusively for the holiday season. Christmas serves as a fitting occasion to spotlight the remarkable historical and contemporary achievements of Lalique. Following an enriching museum experience, return to your vessel for a leisurely lunch as you cruise towards Strasbourg. Upon reaching this captivating destination, you'll have the liberty to explore independently and revel in the beautiful cityscape, particularly around the cathedral, Place Kleber, Carre d'Or, and Place Gutenberg, a truly awe-inspiring spectacle.
