Explore Tokyo

Enjoy a full day at your leisure in Tokyo. There is plenty to explore here, however, we do recommend taking an optional Tokyo gourmet tour to sample many of Japan’s staple street foods such as yakitori and monjayaki. (B)

Day

4

Tokyo – Shin-Fuji – Shizuoka

Travel to Shizuoka via the Shinkansen bullet train with an en route stop in Shiraito Park to explore its waterfalls and to enjoy a pleasant cycle through a local village. Next, you’ll enjoy a soba noodle and tempura lunch followed by a sake brewery tour and your train ride to Shizuoka for a traditional Japanese dinner. (B,L,D)

Shizuoka – Kyoto

Take a full day at your leisure to explore the many hidden treasures of Kyoto. We recommend a walk along the Philosopher’s Path to Kyoto University, so named for the philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who took this path as part of his morning meditation ritual. (B)
