Tokyo – Arrival

Upon arrival in Tokyo, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in and the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Discover Tokyo

Spend your day on a guided tour of Tokyo visiting Asakusa, Tokyo’s old town, Sensoji Temple and the centuries old shopping street of Nakamise. You’ll travel through the city like a true Tokyoite, using the vast network of public transportation. (B)

Explore Tokyo

Enjoy a full day at your leisure in Tokyo. There is plenty to explore here, however, we do recommend taking an optional Tokyo gourmet tour to sample many of Japan’s staple street foods such as yakitori and monjayaki. (B)

Tokyo – Shin-Fuji – Shizuoka

First Class Superior: Yaizu Grand Hotel or similar accommodations

Travel to Shizuoka via the Shinkansen bullet train with an en route stop in Shiraito Park to explore its waterfalls and to enjoy a pleasant cycle through a local village. Next, you’ll enjoy a soba noodle and tempura lunch followed by a sake brewery tour and your train ride to Shizuoka for a traditional Japanese dinner. (B,L,D)

Shizuoka – Kyoto

Enjoy a home cooked breakfast before boarding your train to Kyoto. Upon arrival, you will have the afternoon at leisure before joining an exclusive tour to Korin-in Temple, typically closed to the public, for an authentic tea ceremony. (B)

Discover Kyoto

Start the day with a visit to Kinkakuji Temple, known as the Golden Pavilion, followed by Nijo Castle. Finish your tour of Kyoto with a visit to Nishiki Market, home to more than 100 shops. (B)

Explore Kyoto

Take a full day at your leisure to explore the many hidden treasures of Kyoto. We recommend a walk along the Philosopher’s Path to Kyoto University, so named for the philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who took this path as part of his morning meditation ritual. (B)

Kyoto – Return

Enjoy a final Japanese breakfast before taking your private transfer to Kansai Airport for your return flight home. (B)
