Upon arrival you will be transferred to the city center of Tromso, known as the Paris of the North, for a day at leisure to explore the Arctic Cathedral or enjoy a visit to Polaira, an adventure center with themes from the Polar Regions. If the weather permits, you may decide to take the famous Fjellheisen cable car to Storsteinen on mount Floya, 421 meters above sea level, for panoramic views of Tromso and the surrounding islands and fjords. Tromso - Aurora Hunt

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then enjoy the day at leisure. This evening, embark on a chase of the elusive Northern Lights. With the help of local and knowledgeable guides, you will find the best area for spotting this natural phenomenon and the best spots for photos. During the evening, your guide will tell you interesting stories about the Northern Lights, both the science and the folklore behind the enigma. Overnight in Tromso. (B)

Tromso - Lynfjord

After breakfast, you can enjoy the morning at leisure or decide to visit the Polar Museum or the Tromso Museum. In the afternoon, you will depart by bus to Camp Tamok where you will spend New Year’s Eve in the Arctic Alps and fjords of Norway, experience the Northern Lights in the heart of the Lyngen area of Sami Lapland. A three-course dinner and snacks are served during the evening and your guide will enterain you with stories around an open camp fire. To end the year in an unforgettable fashion, you will have the choice to overnight in a Sami tent or a timber cabin where you will sleep in winter sleeping bags on top of a mountain of reindeer skins. After a night under the stars and the Northern Lights, it’s time to rise and shine and enjoy breakfast before gathering your necessary equipment to be ready to drive your own dogsled team! You will meet a pack of excitable huskies ready for action as your dog sledding adventure starts and you prepare for your journey. Take your sled into the white washed landscapes, totally uninhabited, with mountains and forests surrounding. Out in the wildm these dogs are right in their element so no need for previous experience as a sled-driver! At the end of your adventure, you will transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Tromso.
