In 1855, Scottish explorer David Livingstone named the falls after Queen Victoria. However, the local Tonga people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya," meaning "the smoke that thunders," referring to the immense mist and thunderous roar produced by the cascading water. The area surrounding Victoria Falls is a popular tourist destination, offering a range of exciting activities such as bungee jumping, white-water rafting, and helicopter tours. Visitors can witness the falls from either Zimbabwe or Zambia, each side presenting a unique perspective and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
