Travel Protection Insurance

Keytours Vacations is a global tour operator that provides travel services to destinations worldwide.


KeyTours Vacations make a Travel Protection Plan available to you for purchase. 

 

The Plan includes the following insurance benefits:

- Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption (up to Trip Cost) - If you cancel or interrupt Your Trip due to a covered Injury, Sickness or death - Your own or that of a Traveling Companion or Family Member - or for Other Covered Reasons, as defined, You will be reimbursed up to the Trip Cost for the unused portion of the prepaid expenses for Travel Arrangements and/ or the Additional Transportation Cost paid to return home or rejoin the Trip.

- Missed Connection (up to $ 750) - Provides reimbursement for the additional transportation expense incurred and/or the unused, non-refundable land arrangements if Your arrival at Your Trip destination is delayed for 3 or more hours due to a Covered reason.

- Travel Delay ($150 per day up to $ 750) - Provides reimbursement for reasonable accommodation, meal, and local transportation expenses if You are delayed for more than 12 hours due to a covered reason.

- Accident and Sickness Medical Expense (up to $ 25,000) - Provides reimbursement for reasonable and customary medical expenses incurred during Your Trip and for emergency dental treatment received during Your Trip up to $750.

- Emergency Evacuation (up to $100,000) - Provides emergency transport to the nearest hospital or medical facility, including escort expense (both, if deemed necessary by the attending Legally Qualified Physician), for a covered Injury or Sickness which occurs while on Your Trip.

- Baggage and Personal Effects (up to $ 1,000) - Coverage for direct physical loss or damage to your checked Baggage, passports or visas up to $1,000 while on Your Trip.

- Baggage Delay (up to $ 250) - If, while on your Trip, your checked baggage is delayed for 24 hours or more, we will pay up to $250 for the purchase of necessary additional clothing and personal articles.


The Plan also includes the following Non-Insurance Services: Generali Global Assistance. The price for the travel protection plan includes the plan premium and a fee for the non-insurance assistance services.  You may obtain information on the plan fee’s by emailing assistancefees@tripmate.com

Insurance Benefits are not payable for any loss due to, arising, or resulting from:


1. Suicide, attempted suicide or any intentionally self-inflicted injury of You, a Traveling Companion, Family Member or Business Partner booked to travel with You, while sane or insane;

2. An act of declared or undeclared war;

3. Participating in maneuvers or training exercises of an armed service, except  while  participating  in  weekend  or  summer  training  for  the reserve forces of the United States, including the National Guard;

4. Riding or driving in races, or speed or endurance competitions or events;

5. Mountaineering (engaging in the sport of scaling mountains generally requiring the use of picks, ropes, or other special equipment);

6. Participating as a professional in a stunt, athletic or sporting event or competition;

7. Participating in skydiving or parachuting except parasailing, hang gliding, bungee cord jumping, extreme skiing, skiing outside marked trails or heli-skiing, any race, speed contests, spelunking or caving, or scuba diving if the depth exceeds 120 feet (40 meters) or if You are not certified to dive and a divemaster is not present during the dive;  

8. Piloting or learning to pilot or acting as a member of the crew of any aircraft;

9. Being  Intoxicated  as  defined  herein,  or  under  the  influence  of  any controlled substance unless as administered or prescribed by a Legally Qualified Physician;

10. The commission of or attempt to commit a felony or being engaged in an illegal occupation;

11. Normal childbirth or pregnancy (except Complications of Pregnancy) or voluntarily induced abortion;

12. Dental treatment (except as coverage is otherwise specifically provided herein);

13. Due to a Pre-Existing Condition, as defined in the Plan. The Pre-Existing Condition Limitation does not apply to the Emergency Medical Evacuation or Return of Remains coverage;

14. Any amount  paid  or  payable  under  any  Worker’s  Compensation, Disability Benefit or similar law;

15. A loss or damage caused by detention, confiscation or destruction by customs;

16. Elective Treatment and Procedures;

17. Medical  treatment  during  or  arising  from  a  Trip  undertaken  for  the purpose or intent of securing medical treatment;

18. A  mental  or  nervous  condition,  unless  hospitalized  for  that  condition while the Plan is in effect for You;

19. A loss that results from a Sickness, Injury, disease or other condition, event or circumstance which occurs at a time when the Plan is not in effect for You; or

20. Bankruptcy or Default or failure to supply services by a supplier of travel services.

Non-Insurance Services are not insurance benefits underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company. Generalli Global Assistance 24-Hour Assistance Services are provided by Generali Global Assistance  Travel Services Network. and Global Xpi Medical Records Services are provided by Trip Mate.
