Details for Isafjordur

Located in the west fjords of Iceland, Isafjordur is the largest settlement in the area with many popular attractions including Fiallfoss, Fosshestar, and Isafjord. According to Iceland’s Book of Settlement, the fjord was first settled in the 9^th century and rapidly grew to become a merchant trading post. The best time to see the northern lights from Isafjordur is between September and March.
