Christmas River Cruise on the Rhine Germany France

Upon arrival, make your own way to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the Cathedral City on the Rhine.

The morning is at leisure. We suggest visiting the twin-spired Cologne Cathedral. In the afternoon, board your ship (check-in starts at 4 pm) and enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner (included). (B,D)

This morning, your cruise ship arrives in Koblenz, located at the famous Deutsches Eck (German Corner), where the Rhine and Moselle Rivers converge. Vineyards, forests, and four mountain ranges form the backdrop to the city, whose 2,000-year history has given rise to beautiful churches and castles, palatial residences, and grand town houses. Much of this charming city can be seen in the course of the morning city walk (optional). After lunch, sail through the romantic Upper Middle Rhine Valley, passing the legendary Lorelei Rock. In the morning, the ship arrives in Speyer, one of the German Roman Empire's most important settlements, where you can take a guided walk (optional) which includes, among other sights, Speyer's famous cathedral and a visit of the city's Christmas Market. Enjoy a Christmas party on board the ship. You can attend a Christmas mass in the Dome of Speyer (included). The ship casts off again in the afternoon, heading upstream towards France. (B,L,D)

Enjoy Christmas Morning on board the ship. After lunch, the vessel arrives in Strasbourg, the ancient capital of Alsace and one of Europe's most attractive cities. During a city tour (optional) you will see the outside of the European Parliament building and have a guided tour of the inside of the city's vast and famous cathedral. The ship casts off again, this time downstream, after dinner. (B,L,D)

You will reach Mainz during lunch. Discover the town's traditions, history, and lifestyle on a city walk. This optional tour naturally includes a visit to the Gutenberg Museum, which commemorates 400 years of history of printing. Enjoy the Captain‘s Gala Dinner in the evening, during which the ship's orchestra will be providing its fine entertainment. (B,L,D)

The ship arrives in Cologne in the morning. You can join a guided walk (optional) of the city, which was founded by the Romans and has been an important trading center for many hundreds of years. It is dominated by its vast Gothic cathedral, founded in 1248 as a pilgrimage church, and now houses the relics of the three holy kings. The afternoon is free for you to explore the city on your own. The vessel remains moored overnight in Cologne. (B,L,D)

Disembark your ship and make your own way to the Cologne airport for your return flight home. (B)
