Navigating the Chonos Archipelago
The Chonos Route, explored aboard the Skorpios II cruise ship, traces a spectacular 6-day journey through the northern Patagonian channels, following ancient paths used by the Chono indigenous people. This less-visited waterway weaves through the Aysén region, offering a perfect blend of dramatic landscapes and diverse marine ecosystems.
The journey takes you through the maze-like Moraleda Channel and the stunning Corcovado Gulf, where the waters teem with marine life including dolphins, sea lions, and even whales during migration seasons. A highlight of the route is the magnificent San Rafael Glacier, where the ship navigates through a field of floating ice to reach the towering blue wall of the glacier itself.
Departs Saturdays Between September and April : 6-day /5-night cruise that covers 800 miles for a magical encounter with the age-old ice formations of the Glaciar San Rafael, sailing through awesome archipelagos, channels and gulfs to tour this incredible territory that includes towns like Castro and the fishing village of Puerto Aguirre.
