Best Time To Visit

Almería is the perfect destination for a summer holiday, with the temperature reaching its peak from June to August. July offers the best water temperatures. If you are looking to avoid holiday crowds, September is recommended, as the weather is still pleasant, especially in the first half of the month.

Passport & Visa

Spain can be visited visa-free for up to 90 days by citizens of most European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Israel, the UAE and most countries in America. Citizens of Schengen countries can travel without a passport, but must have a valid ID with them during their stay. Non-Schengen travellers need a passport that is valid for at least 3 months after the end of their intended trip in order to enter. Almería Airport (LEI)

Almería’s airport is located 9 kilometres east of the city. Although it's not a big airport, its facilities are modern, with a café, a terrace, and easily accessible arrivals and departures located on the main ground floor. Bus 30 operates from the arrivals terminal to the city centre every hour, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The journey takes about 35 minutes.

Public Transport

Everything in town is conveniently located within walking distance, but for those who prefer public transportation, the bus service is available on 15 operational lines, operating every day of the year from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm.

Taxi

Almería's taxis are easily identifiable by their white colour, and they can be flagged down on the street. However, for a more reliable service, it's advisable to call a company to book a ride in advance. Reservations can be made up to 12 hours before your intended journey. The typical fare for a taxi ride to or from the city airport ranges from 23€ to 29€.

Almería Cruise Terminal

Almería's cruise terminal ranks among Spain's top 10 busiest ports, due to its proximity to North Africa. It's located at Muelle de Levante, where ferries daily cross to and from Morocco and Algeria. The port of Almería is divided into several different areas. The west part houses a restaurant and the fishing area. Cruise ships dock along the Levante pier, near the control tower. Both sides of the port offer picturesque views.
