Passport & Visa

Cyprus’s passport and visa requirements vary for different nationalities. Citizens of the European Union (EU) countries (including Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein) need a passport or a valid ID. The rest of the citizens of other countries will need a passport. Many countries, including the United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Australia, and Japan, benefit from visa-free entry for tourism short stays of up to 90 days maximum. Travellers requiring a short-stay visa (valid for up to 90 days), such as those from some Middle-Eastern, African, or Asian nations, the visa must be obtained prior to arrival. All visitors should ensure their passport is valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay. If you're not sure whether or not to apply for a visa, we recommend you contact the embassy or consulate in your country. For Northern Cyprus, nationals of most countries will need to obtain a visa for stays of under 90 days. Citizens of the European Union (EU) countries, United Kingdom and United States do not need visas for Northern Cyprus, for tourism entry and up to 90 days.

Larnaca International Airport (LCA)

Larnaca International Airport (LCA) is the nearest airport to Agia Napa, located about 45 kilometres to the west of the city. It takes about 45-60 minutes to get to the city from the airport depending on your method of transportation and traffic. Most major hotels and resorts provide shuttle services, making it the most common and simple way to get to Agia Napa. There are also usually plenty of taxis available outside the terminal. It is possible to get to Agia Napa using public transport, and it is quite inexpensive, but there is no direct connection, and the trip can take significantly longer (up to about 90 minutes). Take any bus from the airport to Larnaca city centre and change to bus 711 of the intercity bus to Agia Napa at Finikoudes Promenade. Tickets can be bought directly from the driver on both buses.

Public Transport

Local buses are run by Eman, running along the length of the coast all day, from about 8am to 11pm. Services usually run every 20-30 minutes, depending on the time of day. Buses 101 and 102 run all the way from the Water Park to Paralimni, with stops along Nissi Avenue, while bus 502 goes straight to Paralimni. Bus 201 is on the Agia Napa circle line. Single tickets and day passes are available, as well as weekly and monthly passes.

Taxi

While most ride-hailing apps don’t operate in Cyprus, you can use the locally developed CABCY app. It charges standard government-regulated taxi fares.

Electricity

Cyprus uses UK-style Type G electrical outlets (three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern). The standard voltage is 230–240V, 50Hz — compatible with most European devices.

Pharmacies have a green cross on the outside which makes them easy to find.
