From here, step into the Forbidden City, an extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors. Wander through its grand halls, ornate courtyards, and hidden chambers while learning about the fascinating lives of China’s rulers. After lunch, you may want to immerse yourself in the historic charm of Beijing’s Hutongs, a network of narrow alleyways lined with traditional courtyard homes. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through these ancient lanes and visit a local family, gaining insight into Beijing’s old-world traditions. In the evening, perhaps savor an authentic Peking Duck Dinner, a delicacy perfected over centuries, at one of the city’s top-rated restaurants.

Beijing - Great Wall

Today, venture beyond the city to one of the Seven Wonders of the World—the Great Wall of China. We recommend Mutianyu section offering stunning views and less crowd than other areas, allowing for a more immersive experience. Take a cable car up to explore its watchtowers and ramparts while learning about its history as a military defense system. After lunch, return to Beijing and visit the Summer Palace, an imperial lakeside retreat renowned for its enchanting gardens, intricate pavilions, and the world’s longest painted corridor. Walk along Kunming Lake and admire the Marble Boat, a symbol of the Qing Dynasty’s opulence.

In the morning, your driver will transfer you to Beijing South Railway Station to board the high-speed train to Xi’an. The 4.5-hour journey aboard the bullet train offers a comfortable ride through China’s diverse landscapes. Upon arrival at Xi’an North Railway Station, a private driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. Consider visiting the Ancient City Wall, where you can walk or bike along the centuries-old fortifications.

Day

Xi'an - Terracotta Warriors

Today, visit one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time—the Terracotta Warriors & Horses Museum. Discovered in 1974, this vast underground army of life-sized soldiers was built to protect China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, in the afterlife. Walk through its three massive excavation pits, each revealing thousands of uniquely sculpted warriors, horses, and chariots. Return to the city and explore the lively Muslim Quarter, where centuries-old traditions merge with vibrant street food culture. Sample local specialties such as roujiamo (Chinese-style burger) and biang biang noodles. In the evening, indulge in a traditional Dumpling Banquet, followed by a spectacular Tang Dynasty Cultural Show, featuring music, dance, and costumes from China’s golden age.

Day

6

Xi'an - Shanghai

After breakfast, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a sacred Buddhist site dating back to the Tang Dynasty. This architectural marvel was originally built to house ancient scriptures brought from India. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your 2-hour flight to Shanghai (flight is available on request). Upon arrival, a private driver will meet you and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, take a leisurely walk along The Bund, where Shanghai’s historic European-style architecture stands in contrast to the futuristic skyscrapers of Pudong. Perhaps enjoy a cocktail at a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city skyline.
