Jewels of Egypt and Jordan

Upon arrival in Cairo, meet your driver for a private transfer to your hotel for check-in, followed by a briefing of your itinerary and the remainder of the evening at your leisure.  

Meet your guide at your hotel for a full day of private touring in Cairo. Visit the three Great Pyramids of Giza, Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinos – as well as their guardian, the Sphinx. Take some free time for an optional lunch before visiting the Egyptian Museum, housing treasures from pre-dynastic period to the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms. Don’t miss the chance to view the famous exhibit of Tut Ankhamon. (B) 

Take your private transfer to the airport for your flight to Aswan (ticket included). Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport to begin your tour including a visit to the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk. Continue your tour to the majestic Philae Temple, built in honor of the goddess Isis. Later you will be transferred to your cruise boat on the Nile River for lunch on board followed by an afternoon felucca sailing around the Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Tonight, enjoy dinner on board including a Nubian folklore show. (B,L,D) 

Visit the maginificent Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. Enjoy the fabulous scenery of the Nile Valley as you sail from Kom Ombo onward to Edfu. Enjoy lunch on board before visiting the Temple of Horus followed by a High Tea service on board. Tonight, enjoy an Egyptian costume party with the chance to don a traditional Egyptian galabeyya for a lavish feast of Egyptian specialties, live music and dancing. (B,L,D) 

This morning, join your Egyptologist guide for a tour around the West Bank of Luxor. Here you will visit the Valley of the Kings and Queens and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. On your return to the Nile for lunch on board, you will pass by the famed Colossi of Memnon. Following lunch, take a tour of the striking Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amun, and the Temple of Karnak. Later, enjoy an afternoon tea on board followed by dinner and a belly dancing performance. (B,L,D) 

After breakfast on board, disembark and transfer to the Luxor airport for your flight to Amman via Cairo. Upon arrival in Amman, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B) 

Drive to Petra for a guided tour of the ancient city carved into the rose-red Sherah Mountains. Walk through the Siq, a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, the Roman Theater, the Courts, Qasr Bint Pharaoun, the Temple of the Winged Lion and other monuments left behind by ancient civilizations. After your visit, head to the city of Petra for check-in at your hotel and the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (B) 

Enjoy a final Jordanian breakfast before returning to Amman where you will be dropped off at the airport for your return flight home. (B)
